Students participating in vocational training at Vocational College No. 4 - Ministry of National Defense , after graduation, have jobs and stable income always reaching over 95%.
Implementing the policy of supporting vocational training and job creation for the BĐXN, from 2023 to 2025, the Provincial Military Command has issued 10,110 vocational training cards for the BĐXN. In order to continue to facilitate the BĐXN to participate in vocational training, the Provincial Military Command has informed non-commissioned officers and soldiers about vocational training programs and support policies. At the same time, coordinate with vocationaltraining institutions to directly introduce occupations, training programs and preferential policies for the BĐXN; provide timely advice and answers so that the BĐXN have full information and choose suitable occupations. Thereby, forming awareness for non-commissioned officers and soldiers about vocational training, helping them gain more knowledge, skills and easily find jobs after discharge. This is also a way to help non-commissioned officers and soldiers to support themselves and contribute to the development of society.
As a trusted address for vocational training and job referrals for retired police officers and soldiers, each year Vocational College No. 4, Ministry of National Defense enrolls and provides vocational training for about 11,000 to 12,000 students at 3 levels including elementary, intermediate and college, of which retired police officers and soldiers account for 25% to 30%.
Lieutenant Colonel, Distinguished Teacher Nguyen Ba Thanh, Vice Principal of Vocational College No. 4, said: With the motto "Training quality is the top choice, job creation is the number 1 priority" and the consistent view that the satisfaction of learners and businesses is the success of the school, in recent years, along with the attention to investing in infrastructure, technical equipment, tools, teaching aids to serve the work of teaching and learning in a synchronous and modern way, the school focuses on building a team of qualified staff and lecturers according to the criteria of a high-quality school. At the same time, building program content, teaching materials and applying science and technology, innovation, digital transformation in management and training.
In addition, the school conducts training in line with the needs of the labor market. Focusing on training in occupations with high demand in the labor market. Actively cooperating with businesses, international cooperation and has established close relationships with more than 80 businesses, corporations, large groups in the stationed area and nationwide to send students to study, intern, and experience at businesses according to the program, creating job recruitment opportunities after graduation.
Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Ba Thanh added that BDXN is a human resource with advantages such as good health, discipline, professionalism and a high sense of responsibility in assigned tasks; has the ability to learn quickly, is at the ideal age to learn a trade and enter the labor market, so it is trusted and recruited by agencies, units and businesses. Therefore, the rate of graduates with stable income is always over 95%, with an average income of 8 to 10 million VND/person/month. Many soldiers who have promoted the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" have constantly strived to become good engineers, business owners and skilled workers.
For example, soldier Do Van Cuong in Dong Hai ward (Thanh Hoa city), after 2 years of military training in the 377th Air Defense Division stationed in Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa), was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown and attended an auto technology training course at Vocational College No. 4. Currently, he owns 2 auto garages in Nghi Son town, with an income of 30 to 60 million VND/month. Like Mr. Cuong, after completing his military service at the 11th Army Corps (Ministry of National Defense), soldier Nguyen Ngoc Hai in Tho Xuan district applied for a vocational training card and attended an refrigeration training course at Vocational College No. 4. He is currently the director of a refrigeration equipment company based in Tho Xuan district, with an income of 20 to 40 million VND/month. Mr. Hai shared: “Before joining the army, everything was very vague for me, especially the orientation of my future career. In the army, I was trained in a professional environment, and colleges and vocational schools promoted the recruitment, career counseling and vocational training support policies of the State, so after being discharged from the army, I registered to study a profession and developed the profession I had learned, achieving success like today. Not only did I bring in a high income for myself, but I also created jobs and stable income for many other workers."
Although they are given favorable conditions and enjoy many policies during their vocational training, some vocational training workers are still hesitant about vocational training due to lack of information or prejudices about the value of the profession. To avoid wasting quality human resources, it is necessary for the entire political system to participate in propaganda work about the benefits of vocational training. At the same time, there are additional financial support policies, such as scholarships, preferential loans, additional support at secondary and college levels, to help vocational training workers overcome financial difficulties. For businesses, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation with vocational training institutions to develop programs, curriculum, transfer technology, support training equipment and tools, participate in training and create job opportunities for vocational training workers.
