According to the new project approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Pickleball will be one of 47 official competitions, with 5 sets of medals awarded. This event marks an important milestone in the development journey of Pickleball in Vietnam. From a popular grassroots sport in schools, parks to semi-professional tournaments, Pickleball is making a strong move towards professionalization.
Pickleball's inclusion in the national competition program not only recognizes the community's efforts to build a movement but also opens up opportunities for Vietnamese athletes to aim for larger arenas such as the SEA Games or the Olympics in the future.
The 10th National Sports Congress will have 47 competitions with 936 events, including Olympic sports such as athletics, swimming, gymnastics, football, wrestling, shooting, judo, boxing...; ASIAD sports such as wushu, sepak takraw, karate, e-sports; and many SEA Games and national sports such as vovinam, shuttlecock kicking, tug of war, lion dance, chess, sports dancing... Pickleball will be in the group of sports in the SEA Games program.
Many sports at the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026 are also on the list of sports to be held at the 2026 ASIAD and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. This shows the synchronization and integration orientation of Vietnamese sports with major sports arenas in the region and the world .
