Presidential Palace 'wears' new light

Like a "bright gem" in the night, the Presidential Palace after installing a new lighting system is like "wearing a new coat" especially in preparation for the 79th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

When Hanoi enters the night, many historical sites and buildings shine with brilliant lighting systems, creating a beautiful scene. During the historic days of August, people and tourists passing by Hung Vuong Street were impressed by the scene of the Presidential Palace every evening, decorated with a new lighting system. From afar, the Presidential Palace looks like a “bright gem” that adds to the landscape of the Ba Dinh political area. Regardless of the day, every night hundreds of people and tourists come to visit, admire and take photos of the Presidential Palace standing out at night. To celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 , and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the Office of the President decorated the Presidential Palace with a new lighting system. After 36 hours of installation, the lighting system was officially put into operation on August 26. With French-style architecture, the new lighting system uses yellow spotlights to maintain the building's color at night while highlighting the building's motifs, patterns, and layout. The new lighting system is also more artistic, even from a distance you can still see the details, patterns, and lines meticulously crafted to every corner. Even at night, the national emblem and building patterns appear prominent and clear when illuminated. Along with that, the landscape and trees in the Presidential Palace grounds are also used with a white light system to create a background for the main building. This lighting system is operated from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. every night and is only used on special, important occasions of the country. After being put into use, senior leaders, officials, employees of the Office of the President and the people felt that the Presidential Palace was "wearing a new coat of light" that was solemn but also very delicate and intimate. The Presidential Palace is the workplace of the President and Vice President, and important activities of our Party and State are still solemnly conducted here. The Presidential Palace, along with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the National Assembly building and other surrounding relics, have become indispensable attractions for compatriots, soldiers and international tourists whenever they visit the capital.

Looking back at history, on October 10, 1954, Hanoi was liberated, President Ho Chi Minh and the Government and the Party Central Committee returned to the capital from the Viet Bac resistance base. According to the introduction of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, President Ho Chi Minh once said: “Previously, this was the Governor General's Palace, but the construction of this architectural work was done by the hands of Vietnamese workers. Now the people are free, the country is independent, the right to own the building must belong to the people”. He proposed to use the building as a place to work and receive guests of the Government and the State of Vietnam. Since then, the building has been called the Presidential Palace. The Presidential Palace has become one of the memorial sites of the President ranked by the State as a particularly important relic. Currently, this building is the workplace of the President and Vice President, and important domestic and foreign affairs activities of our Party and State are still solemnly conducted here.
