Coordinating management and protection of Vietnam - Laos border

On March 16, in Son La province, the Border Guard Command of 3 provinces: Thanh Hoa, Son La and Dien Bien held a conference to effectively implement a number of coordination contents in managing and protecting the border area adjacent to 3 provinces: Hua Phan, Luang Prabang, Phong Sa Ly (Laos).

At the conference, leaders of the Border Guard Commands of the three provinces: Thanh Hoa, Son La and Dien Bien agreed to well implement a number of contents in the coming time, including: Border posts continue to do a good job of grasping the relevant internal and external situations; maintain regular information exchange.

At the same time, coordinate border patrols in adjacent areas to promptly detect and prevent activities that violate territorial sovereignty and national border security; direct units to do a good job of border diplomacy and special propaganda so that citizens on both sides of the border strictly comply with the Agreement on Border Management Regulations and Land Border Gate Management between Vietnam and Laos.

Coordinate to promote propaganda and mobilize the masses to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and do a good job of advising localities at all levels to consolidate and build a strong political base to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

In 2024, territorial sovereignty, political security - social order and safety in the border areas (KBBG) are basically stable; border management and protection work is strictly maintained. The relationship between the three provinces: Son La, Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa and the three provinces: Hua Phan, Luang Prabang, Phong Sa Ly (Laos) is increasingly developing well; the border management and protection forces of the two sides regularly coordinate closely in border management and protection work.

Party committees, authorities, and border communes bordering the three provinces are regularly consolidated, improved, and operate more and more effectively; they pay attention to leading, directing, and mobilizing the masses to actively carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and participating with the Border Guard in border management and protection.

The Border Guard Commands of the three provinces have regularly exchanged and informed each other about the internal and external situation related to border management and protection. The border posts have coordinated to organize propaganda 15 times/840 listeners; organized patrols 20 times/280 officers and soldiers participated. In addition, the Border Guard Commands of the provinces also regularly organize annual talks with the neighboring provinces of Laos.
