At the meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi, both sides expressed their delight at the fact that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries continues to develop positively, becoming increasingly substantive and effective in all areas. Political trust continues to be consolidated, investment, trade, and labor cooperation is enhanced, and high-level exchanges are increasingly close.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister affirmed that Vietnam consistently considers Japan a reliable partner, accompanying Japan in the new era of development; hopes that the two sides will continue to closely coordinate to effectively implement the common agreements of the two countries' senior leaders; increase high-level exchanges to continuously consolidate political trust and close ties; encourage Japanese enterprises to invest in major projects that symbolize the bilateral relationship between the two countries in the fields of urban infrastructure, high-speed railways, energy, etc.; effectively promote new-generation ODA capital sources, especially in large infrastructure projects, actively implement cooperation projects on green transformation, etc.

Minister Iwaya Takshi thanked Vietnam for successfully coordinating the organization of the visit to Vietnam of Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru; expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to maintain high-level exchanges in the coming time; and work together to concretize cooperation between the two countries according to the agreements reached in many fields of diplomacy, economy, defense, etc.; and agreed to promote the organization of meetings of cooperation mechanisms to discuss future cooperation orientations.
The two sides agreed to jointly promote the implementation of new pillars of cooperation in science and technology, innovation and high-quality human resource training. Minister Iwaya Takeshi affirmed that Japan will actively support Vietnam in developing the semiconductor industry and training high-quality human resources in new fields such as digital transformation, green transformation, science and technology, AI, etc.
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially promoting cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Japan and Mekong-Japan cooperation to become increasingly substantive and effective.

At the meeting with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazia Cassis, the two sides appreciated the positive developments in bilateral relations, demonstrated through delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, notably the talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter on the occasion of attending the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF Davos) in January 2025; agreed to closely coordinate to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries signed during the Prime Minister's working visit to Switzerland.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam wishes to promote substantive and effective cooperation with Switzerland, focusing on soon agreeing on and finalizing the content and implementation plan of the Comprehensive Partnership framework that the two countries' senior leaders have agreed to establish; affirmed that Vietnam is ready to work with Switzerland and other countries to promote negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EFTA bloc; emphasized that Vietnam and Switzerland are two economies with many complementary advantages, and trade cooperation will bring benefits to both sides.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazia Cassis expressed her wish to further promote friendly relations and expand cooperation with Vietnam in many fields, agreed to promote the next round of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EFTA bloc, and resolve outstanding issues to soon conclude negotiations. At the meeting, the two sides also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern.
