On the morning of August 29, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a workshop on “Promoting the role of intellectuals and artists to meet development requirements”. Civic responsibility and creative mission
Over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City has become a special urban area, a major center of economy , culture, science - technology, education and international integration. Among these achievements, there are silent but great contributions from intellectuals, scientists, artists through scientific research, technology transfer, artistic creation, policy consulting, and social criticism.
Many generations of artists have left behind valuable works, both affirming cultural vitality and fostering people's faith in the Party's leadership, nurturing love for the homeland and country.

Opinions at the workshop agreed: in order for intellectuals and artists to maximize their role, there needs to be synchronous attention from mechanisms, policies to the creative environment.
Mr. Le Nguyen Hieu, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance Artists Association, emphasized: "Artists not only need to be talented, but also have a heart and vision, and be exemplary citizens, with a sense of responsibility towards the nation and the people of the city named after Uncle Ho."
Solutions to attract young intellectuals
One of the issues of interest is the policy to attract and develop young intellectuals. Mr. Pham Thanh Nhan, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, said: "The process of streamlining the apparatus both creates opportunities and poses challenges for young intellectuals. If there is a lack of consistent policies on training, fostering and remuneration, young resources may move to the private sector or abroad."
Therefore, it is necessary to drastically implement existing policies, while building a transparent and professional working environment, associated with digital transformation and innovation, to retain and promote young intellectuals.
