Promoting the role of youth in communicating poverty reduction policies through cyberspace

TPO - On July 23, the Da Nang City Youth Union organized a training conference to improve the capacity of cadres working in propaganda on poverty reduction, within the framework of Project 6 "Communication and information poverty reduction" under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025.

At the program, delegates and youth union members listened to Dr. Bui Le Quyen (Academy of Journalism and Communication) present the topic "Improving communication capacity for sustainable poverty reduction policies on cyberspace".

Young people and youth union members shared creative initiatives and communication models that were suitable for each residential area. Many ideas focused on utilizing social networks and digital platforms to spread policy information and raise public awareness about poverty reduction.

Not only providing knowledge and modern communication skills, the conference is also a forum for Youth Union officials to affirm the pioneering role of youth in realizing the goal of "leaving no one behind".

Mr. Hoang Duc Nam, Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Youth Union Working Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said: In recent times, the Da Nang Youth Union has been implementing many practical activities such as organizing training courses on digital communication skills, guiding people to access and use information technology, building models of 'Youth helping each other escape poverty', 'Youth developing the economy ', and at the same time implementing creative communication campaigns on social networks. Thereby contributing to changing awareness, arousing the will to rise up of the poor, and at the same time mobilizing consensus and support from the whole society.

According to Mr. Nam, in the context of strong technological development, cyberspace has become an important channel for disseminating information. The Youth Union, characterized by its young, dynamic, and technologically responsive force, is the pioneer in communicating and propagating policies to the people, especially the poor, near-poor households, and disadvantaged youth in remote areas.
