- Reporter: What are the outstanding achievements of Thanh Hung commune in the 2020 - 2025 term?

- Comrade Nguyen Van Nghia: During the past term, despite many difficulties, Thanh Hung commune has united and effectively mobilized the strength of the entire political system and people's resources. In terms of economy, the commune has maintained a stable growth rate, with per capita income reaching and exceeding the resolution target. Agriculture has changed positively, mechanizing most production stages, and crop structure closely matching each locality. Rice continues to be the main crop with 10,698 hectares, yielding 197,252 tons/year.

Thanh Hung commune was established from the merger of 3 communes Thanh Hung, Thanh Phuoc and Thanh Loc. Of which, Thanh Loc achieved the new rural commune standard, Thanh Hung achieved the advanced new rural commune standard in 2022, Thanh Phuoc achieved the model new rural commune standard in 2024. These are solid premises for Thanh Hung commune to continue to develop today. Rural traffic has been invested in construction with 45 routes, 61.7km long, with a total capital of more than 53 billion VND.

Along with that, cultural, sports and educational activities are given attention, 4/9 schools meet national standards, 100% of teachers meet or exceed standards. Poverty reduction is effective, poor households have decreased significantly, the rate of people participating in health insurance, using electricity and clean water has met the target. National defense and security are always maintained. Every year, the commune completes the military recruitment target; the models of "Security Camera", "Model Commune of Security and Order", "Clean Commune of Drugs" are effective, helping to reduce criminal offenses and traffic accidents.

Regarding Party building, the Commune Party Committee has always been clean and strong. During its term, it admitted 110 new Party members, bringing the total number to 884 Party members, accounting for 1.9% of the population, with 39 affiliated Party cells. This result was achieved thanks to the creative and correct leadership of the Party Committee and the high consensus of the People.

- Reporter: What breakthrough tasks and solutions does the commune identify in the new term?

- Comrade Nguyen Van Nghia: We focus on three areas. First, on Party building, continuing to rectify and improve the quality of Party cell activities, developing new Party members, strengthening inspection and supervision, and maintaining discipline. Second, on the economy, promoting digital transformation, administrative reform, applying science to production, effectively implementing the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta. Third, on culture and society, continuing to innovate education, promoting the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life associated with new rural construction, focusing on developing ethnic minority areas.

- Reporter: To achieve this goal, what decisive factors does the commune identify?

- Comrade Nguyen Van Nghia: The most important thing is to mobilize maximum resources, exploit local potentials and advantages, combined with the consensus of the people. We strive to increase per capita income by 9.5% by 2030, the rate of clean water usage reaches 80%, total social investment capital reaches 702 billion VND... The breakthroughs identified include: Applying science and technology to production; innovating leadership methods, improving the quality of staff; perfecting traffic infrastructure. I believe that, with the leadership of the Party and the strength of national solidarity, Thanh Hung will achieve the goal of becoming a model new rural commune, rich, beautiful and civilized.
