
On the afternoon of July 29, the leader of the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh commune, Lam Dong province, said that local people had just discovered the decomposing body of a child at the edge of the forest, 24 days away from the scene where a 2-year-old girl went missing in the commune.
According to initial information, at around 1:00 p.m. on July 29, a resident went to the forest area in Hiep Thanh commune to pick mushrooms and discovered the decomposing body of a child and quickly reported it to the authorities.
Upon receiving the news, local authorities coordinated with the provincial police to block off the scene, organize an investigation, and clarify the incident. The leader of the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh commune added that it would take some time for the authorities to verify and investigate, including confirming whether the body of the child that was just discovered was that of the 2-year-old girl who had been missing for more than 20 days.
Previously, Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television reported that on July 7, Hiep Thanh Commune Police, Lam Dong Province issued a notice to find Tran Pham Ngoc Han (2 years old, residing in Phi Nom village, Hiep Thanh commune) who had been missing since the morning of July 5.
According to the notice of the Hiep Thanh Commune Police, Han has been missing since the morning of July 5. Her mother, Pham Thi Thao Vi (24 years old), said that on the morning of July 5, Ngoc Han was at home with her grandmother. While she was playing in the house, her grandmother went out to clean the garden. At around 11am the same day, the family did not see Han so they searched the surrounding area but to no avail.
After the family reported the incident, Hiep Thanh Commune Police mobilized forces, coordinated with local authorities and local people to search but could not find Ngoc Han.
