To celebrate the big day, Ho Chi Minh City will set off fireworks at 30 locations across the districts - the most ever. Specifically, to make it easier for people to observe, Ho Chi Minh City will have 2 high-altitude shooting locations, the remaining 28 locations will have low-altitude fireworks.

However, the Saigon River banks were still crowded and bustling as people flocked to enjoy the festival activities and wait to see the brilliant fireworks display.

Since 5 p.m., many people have gathered at Bach Dang wharf park and neighboring roads, causing traffic to increase.

Another fireworks display that attracts many locals and tourists is the low-altitude display at the Independence Palace. From 5 p.m., the stage area on Le Duan Street (District 1) has allowed people to enter to watch the fireworks.

At exactly 9pm, fireworks were launched simultaneously from the Independence Palace and other locations, lighting up the sky in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City. The performance lasted about 15 minutes, with colorful fireworks effects, creating giant flowers in the night sky.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Nhung (living in Thu Duc City) with her husband and two young children who arrived at 7pm said: "The children have been excited all week because they know there will be fireworks at the Independence Palace. My whole family considers this an opportunity to both have fun and teach the children about national history. The atmosphere is truly wonderful!"
