After 3 hours 16 minutes 44 seconds, athlete Le Minh Tuan finished first in the 42km distance for women at the Quang Tri International Marathon 2025 - Camel Cup taking place on the morning of August 3.
"This is not my best achievement in tournaments, but it is my best will ever to get this title," athlete Le Minh Tuan confided to Dan Tri newspaper reporters after she needed medical care after celebrating and collapsing at the finish line shortly after.

At the finish line, Minh Tuan could not even take a single step, although she had been leading the entire 42km of the harsh race that took place on the sunny and windy land of Quang Tri. The female athlete reached the finish line without the shoes she had started with, instead wearing only socks, which she quickly took off so that the medical team could take care of her blistered, bruised and bleeding feet.

"I thought I had to give up in the last 10km. In this race I always lead the women's distance, but when I was more than 10km from the finish line, I don't know if I made the right or wrong decision to take off my shoes and run barefoot because my shoes were wet.
The track was full of gravel and crushed stones, which caused blisters on my feet afterwards. I didn’t feel tired running, but my injured feet were very painful, and I had to walk twice, and the thought of giving up crossed my mind. However, I was still quite far behind the second female runner, so I was determined to finish at all costs. Luckily, a male runner helped me along the way so I could finish as I wished.
Winning this race almost made me cry with joy and pride in overcoming such unexpected obstacles on the track. I am a runner who runs on instinct, listening to my body rather than focusing too much on technique.
Today, the result of 3 hours and 16 minutes is not the best result, but it is the best will in the tournaments I have ever participated in," Le Minh Tuan expressed his joy after overcoming unexpected incidents on the track to win the championship at the tournament.

Le Minh Tuan is a very familiar runner in the amateur running community in Vietnam. She is one of 3 Vietnamese female amateur athletes to achieve sub3 (running an average of 3 minutes per 1km), along with Ha Thi Hau and Chi Nguyen. Le Minh Tuan's best achievement is 2 hours 58 minutes 38 seconds at the Hai Phong marathon at the end of 2023.
In 2024, Le Minh Tuan won the full marathon distance at the tournament in Ha Long (3 hours 10 minutes 53 seconds), won the Longbien Marathon (3 hours 7 minutes 59 seconds) and achieved the best result of the season at the Hanoi Heritage Marathon 2024 (3 hours 4 minutes 33 seconds). Most recently in 2025, Minh Tuan continued to win the full marathon distance at the Con Son - Kiep Bac tournament (Hai Phong) in February.

"Each tournament brings great experiences and helps me gain more confidence and make more efforts in life. I never thought I could complete a 42km distance with a quarter of the distance running barefoot. This will also be a lesson for me to be better prepared. This championship will be the most memorable memory for me in the process of pursuing my passion," athlete Le Minh Tuan concluded.
