This morning, more than 7,600 candidates registered for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam entered the first exam subject - Literature. Among thousands of candidates, the image of Quàng Thị Nga - a 12th grade student at Tuần Giáo High School wearing a mourning scarf entering the exam room made many people shed tears. On the night of June 25, just a few hours before the first exam day, Nga's father passed away after a long illness. Shocked and in pain, Nga asked to take a leave from the exam to mourn.

But in that moment, teacher Nguyen Tuan - Nga's homeroom teacher - became her biggest spiritual support. He advised: "Don't skip the exam, my dear. If you skip the exam, your father will not be at peace." His words of encouragement were simple but helped Nga get up and determined to continue. On the morning of June 26, she went to the exam site in tears, wearing a white mourning band, carrying the unfinished dream of her father who had just passed away.
Throughout the exam, Mr. Tuan not only accompanied and encouraged her but also took care of the funeral for her family, hired a car to pick her up and called on the community to help with the funeral expenses. The story of Nga and her homeroom teacher is a touching testament to the teacher-student relationship and the determination to overcome difficulties of students in the highlands - who, despite their pain, still persevered to move forward so as not to disappoint the trust of their families, teachers and themselves.
