(NLDO)- Although she met the motorbike taxi driver, the female passenger still has not received back the 71 million VND that was mistakenly transferred.

On the afternoon of March 19, Mr. NTQ, (a Grab driver) and his family went to the authorities in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. Afterwards, he was assisted in contacting Ms. VTL to work on the matter of Ms. L. mistakenly transferring 71 thousand (71,000) VND to 71 million VND when paying the fare.

However, at this meeting, the two sides could not reach an agreement to resolve the issue. The driver's family requested that Ms. L. publicly apologize for posting the driver's information on social media before the money would be returned.

Passenger posts about mistakenly transferring money while riding GrabBike on social media

Meanwhile, Ms. L. said that she had not been able to contact the driver before, so she had transferred more money in low denominations to the driver's bank account many times, and even asked the technology car company to contact the driver again, but did not receive a response, so she had to post on social media.

Because of the lack of consensus, Ms. L. has not yet received the 71 million VND that was mistakenly transferred. Ms. L. said that she has worked with the police and has also made a statement of her bank account; if the matter cannot be resolved through mutual discussion and agreement, she will have to request the authorities to resolve the matter according to regulations.

Previously, on March 15, Ms. L. booked a GrabBike in Vung Tau City. When she arrived, Ms. L. was supposed to pay 71,000 VND but mistakenly transferred 71 million VND. After that, Ms. L. called the driver again but the phone was turned off. Two days later, Ms. L. posted the driver's information on social media, calling on the online community if anyone knew the driver or had related information, to advise the driver to quickly return the mistakenly transferred amount.

Ms. L. said that because she had transferred large sums of money many times, when she had biometrics, she still habitually put her face in to be scanned.

Regarding this incident, Grab Vietnam responded with the following content: "As soon as the Grab call center received the information, we temporarily locked the driver partner's account and advised the passenger to report the incident to the authorities. Grab commits to being ready to support information and work closely when receiving requests from the authorities."
