As a medical unit in a mountainous area where people's lives are still difficult, Hai Ha District Medical Center has made efforts to implement many health care activities for the people, so that people can access health care services in the best way.

Accordingly, the doctors of the Center have mastered many modern medical equipment, such as: Magnetic resonance imaging machine, computed tomography machine, digestive endoscopy system, surgical endoscopy, lithotripsy endoscopy, continuous blood filtration machine, biochemical and microbiological immunoassay machine... At the same time, many specialized techniques have been deployed, such as: Laparoscopic surgery; diagnostic and interventional gastroscopy, colonoscopy; hemodialysis, emergency; plasma exchange, adsorption blood filtration; Doppler ultrasound of the heart and blood vessels; fine needle aspiration of cells... Since then, many emergency cases have been resolved, saving the lives of many seriously ill people.

Recently, the doctors of the Center successfully treated a pregnant woman with pre-eclampsia symptoms overnight. The pregnant woman, Ms. TSM (26 years old), residing in Quang Duc commune, was hospitalized with abdominal pain, diagnosed with a third labor, 36 weeks and 1 day of twin pregnancy, one head-first, one breech with signs of pre-eclampsia.

The on-duty doctor and the surgical team consulted and ordered an emergency cesarean section to remove the fetus while proactively preventing blood transfusion during the surgery, preventing the worst risks for the patient. After 15 minutes, the two boys were born one after another. After the surgery, the mother was conscious, the two babies were skin-to-skin with their mother, and the health of all three mothers and children was good.

Doctor To Thi Ngoc Bich, Department of Reproductive Health and Obstetrics (Hai Ha District Medical Center) said: Carrying twins already has many additional risks for the mother, such as blood transfusion syndrome that can cause stillbirth of 1 fetus, 2 fetuses conjoined... During labor, there are risks such as postpartum uterine inertia leading to severe bleeding that is difficult to control immediately after birth... Therefore, we also recommend that, in order for the process from pregnancy to birth to take place smoothly and safely, pregnant women should go for regular pregnancy management check-ups to monitor, detect early and have effective treatment methods.

It can be seen that currently, medical centers throughout the province have mastered science and technology, difficult techniques, as evidenced by the surgeries and emergencies performed right at the district level, bringing satisfaction to the people. The medical staff is also always interested in training and fostering to improve their professional qualifications and medical ethics.

From 2023 to present, 126 commune-level health stations in the province have had their facilities and infrastructure repaired and maintained, with a budget of over VND 260 billion. Thanks to the extensive network and increasingly highly qualified medical staff, the health sector has proactively implemented programs for disease prevention, expanded immunization, management of non-communicable diseases, periodic maternity care and effective first aid.

In the period of 2024-2030, the health sector also proposed and implemented many specialized medical development projects. Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital upgraded and expanded the Prenatal Diagnosis Unit into a Prenatal Screening and Diagnosis Center; the Reproductive Support Department into a Reproductive Support Center and a Genetics Department; established a Bank for storing blood stem cells and umbilical cord tissue, developing from the basic medical examination and treatment level to the specialized level in the investment roadmap for the expansion project of Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital with a scale of 450 beds. The Provincial Geriatrics - Rehabilitation Hospital proposed to establish a Provincial Rehabilitation Center. The Provincial General Hospital and the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital continued to carry out activities of donating and transplanting human tissues and organs...
