Many important steps forward at Da Nang Semiconductor Day 2025

Within the framework of the Danang Finance and Technology Week 2025, the Danang Semiconductor Day 2025 took place at the opening ceremony on the morning of August 30 at the Danang City Administrative Center.

Attending the event were: Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Hai Quan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University; Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City; US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper and diplomatic missions; representatives of leaders of city departments, agencies and branches; along with experts, businesses, and domestic and foreign technology communities on research, application and management of semiconductor microchip technology development.

In his opening speech, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, stated that after 1 year since the first event "Da Nang Semiconductor Day" was held, Da Nang city has made strong progress in 4 aspects: policy, infrastructure, human resources and investment attraction.

Accordingly, Da Nang city has issued a Project on developing the field of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence in Decision No. 257/QD-UBND dated January 21, 2025, thereby determining the goal by 2030, making Da Nang one of the top 3 centers in the country in microchip design and artificial intelligence application.

Establish a network for training high-quality human resources and an innovation ecosystem in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries. Focus on developing at least 5,000 high-quality human resources in the semiconductor sector; establish at least 30 design enterprises, 2 packaging enterprises and at least 5 start-ups in the semiconductor sector.

From 8 initial design enterprises, the microchip and semiconductor ecosystem in Da Nang has expanded to 25 enterprises, participating in diverse stages of packaging and testing.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Luong Nguyen Minh Triet believes that the ideas exchanged and shared at Da Nang Semiconductor Day 2025 will create practical initiatives and cooperation, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the microchip and semiconductor ecosystem in Da Nang City in particular and Vietnam in general.

At the Da Nang Semiconductor Day 2025, delegates presented many important papers on the advancement of semiconductor technology, with two thematic seminars including: the seminar "Foundational technologies for future society: The intersection of electronics and photonics" taking place on the morning of August 30 and the seminar "Connecting supply chains and clean room infrastructure solutions" taking place in the afternoon of the same day.

In particular, the Workshop “Fundamental Technologies for Future Society: The Intersection of Electronics and Photonics” was organized with the participation of VinFuture Foundation and Danang University; to update market development trends, new technologies in the electronics, semiconductor and photonics industries; promote cooperation in research and development, commercialization of products in the fields of advanced packaging and integrated photonic systems.
