For many years now, due to the impact of natural disasters and strong tides, some key locations along the coast of Tan Ninh Chau and Hoi Long villages (Dan Hai commune) have been seriously eroded and gouged. Some of these eroded locations have approached the foot of the Hoi Thong dike located inside the protective forest, about 10m. The erosion has not only washed away sand and soil, but also knocked down many other protective casuarina trees.

Therefore, the reinforcement of vulnerable coastal locations aims to proactively respond to storm No. 5, limit high tides causing landslides and spreading, and protect the Hoi Thong dike. This is a vulnerable dike protecting thousands of households in Dan Hai commune.
