Research on developing Son Cha Island into a resort island for luxury guests

(NLDO) - Da Nang City plans to work with Hue City to research and develop Son Cha Island into an isolated eco-resort island for high-spending guests.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, has just signed a decision approving the proposed integrated component of economic development cooperation with the provinces in the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and East-West Economic Corridor 2.

In the direction of cooperation and association in tourism development, Da Nang City plans to study and coordinate with Hue City to invest in developing Hon Son Cha into an isolated eco-resort island for high-spending and super-luxury guests.

In addition, Da Nang City also plans to cooperate with Hue to invest and jointly exploit Sung Co, Ma Da, and Hai Van Quan beaches.

In September 2024, the Government Office announced the conclusion of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, assigning Da Nang City to manage Son Cha Islet and the area south of Hai Van Mountain. Thua Thien - Hue Province (now Hue City) manages the area north of Hai Van Mountain.

The above decision was made at a meeting to appraise the project to establish Hue City under the Central Government and listen to a report on determining administrative boundaries between the two localities held on September 9.

Hon Son Cha is located at the foot of Hai Van mountain, ^1.6km2 wide. The island has a biodiversity that is not inferior to famous sea areas in the country with many species of coral, seaweed and a variety of aquatic species.
