The Department of Education and Training said that this year, Quang Nam has more than 18,000 candidates taking the exam at 62 exam sites with 832 exam rooms in all 17 districts, towns and cities (7 more exam sites than last year), including 52 exam sites at high schools and 10 exam sites at middle schools (due to the large number of candidates and some high schools not having adequate facilities).
Notably, there are 2 testing locations for more than 550 candidates taking the 2006 GeneralEducation Program in Hoi An (Kim Dong Secondary School) and Tam Ky (Nguyen Du Secondary School).
Participating in the organization of this year's exam, Quang Nam mobilized more than 3,600 officials and teachers to lead the exam sites, invigilators, and supervisors, of which the largest number were invigilators with more than 1,900 people. In addition, there were more than 1,000 people from many forces such as police, medical staff , orderlies, and security guards on duty to ensure security, safety, and health care for candidates at all exam sites in the province.
Through records at the examination sites, strictly implementing the examination regulations when carrying out the procedure of calling candidates into the examination room, this year the invigilators checked and supervised quite closely, comparing the faces of each candidate with the photos on the examination card, citizen identification card, checking personal items brought into the examination room according to regulations. Candidates who brought phones, briefcases or wore jackets into the examination room were reminded by the invigilators to avoid violating the regulations.
Security work at the exam sites this year is also quite strict. In front of the exam school gates, only the police are on duty, performing the task of ensuring traffic safety, maintaining security and order, and preventing crowds from gathering. In addition, there are security forces from communes and wards participating in maintaining order around the perimeter. Thanks to that, during exam hours, the area in front of the exam school gate is quite quiet.
According to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training, the first day of the exam at all exam sites in the province took place seriously and safely. The staff and teachers in charge of the exam were present and on time; no exam staff violated the exam regulations. The rate of candidates attending this year's exam was quite high at over 99.5%; most of the absent candidates were independent candidates.
During the Literature exam, a candidate from Tieu La High School (Thang Binh) broke his arm in a traffic accident a few days ago and was given copies by the invigilator, who supervised, videotaped and audio-recorded the entire process of taking the exam and copying. A candidate from Nguyen Duy Hieu High School (Dien Ban) took the exam at Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School (Dien Ban) and violated the regulations when he was discovered bringing a cell phone into the exam room and was suspended from the exam according to regulations.
Today, June 27, according to the Ministry of Education and Training's exam schedule, candidates will only take the morning exam with two optional subjects. As for candidates studying under the 2006 General Education Program, in the morning they will take the natural science exam (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or social science exam (History, Geography, Civic Education) and in the afternoon they will take the foreign language exam.
