Trump shooting suspect charged with attempted assassination

According to the investigation records, he once wrote a handwritten letter declaring his plot to kill Trump and promised to pay $150,000 to anyone who completed the assassination. Ryan R. is currently in custody.

Ryan R.'s case has been assigned to Judge Aileen Cannon, who caused controversy when she handled the case of Trump allegedly hoarding classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

According to Reuters and the New York Times, Ryan R. wrote detailed plans to assassinate Trump in a note months before his arrest on September 15. Investigators are also continuing to look into the possibility of other plots targeting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Ryan Wesley Routh (Ryan R.), 58, lived most of his life in North Carolina before moving to Kaaawa, Hawaii in 2018. He and his son run a warehouse construction company.

He has previous convictions for possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possession of stolen property.

On social networks, he repeatedly spoke out to defend Ukraine against Russia's attacks.

In his self-published book, Routh writes that Iran is “free to kill Trump” for pulling the US out of the international nuclear deal with Tehran.
