Tax sector promotes propaganda and accompanies business households

The Tax Department of Region VIII is currently managing a total of more than 24,400 business households. Most of the households in the area are engaged in commercial business, selling goods directly to consumers in the following areas: Food and beverage, clothing, consumer goods, medicine, agricultural products, etc. Thanks to the promotion of propaganda, the awareness of tax obligations of households during this period has been significantly improved, as shown in the indicators of increasing state budget revenue. From the beginning of the year to the end of May 2025, the amount paid to the state budget was 96 billion VND, including business license fees, VAT, personal income tax, resource tax, special consumption tax; an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024.

Tax sector promotes propaganda and accompanies business households

Officers of the Inter-District Tax Team of Doan Hung, Thanh Ba, and Ha Hoa guide businesses in declaring taxes when doing business on e-commerce trading floors in Doan Hung district.

Right from the beginning of the year, the Phu Tho Provincial Tax Department (before the merger) issued a propaganda plan for 2025, focusing on popular and easy-to-remember propaganda methods for business households such as creating instructional videos and short articles posted on the Tax Department's social networking site; sending zalo messages to each business household to announce new policies or tax obligations; coordinating with local newspapers and radio stations to produce reports and columns about households. In particular, civil servants at tax teams have directly visited the business locations of households to propagate and support business households. Propaganda work was carried out promptly, immediately after policy documents related to households were issued, focusing on propaganda content on electronic invoices for business households, regulations on the level of revenue that must be declared and paid for tax by business households according to the Law on VAT effective from January 1, 2026, the Party and State's policy on priority policies for developing the private economy including business households and the abolition of the household contract form from January 1, 2026.

In fact, the new and amended tax policies related to business households have been very proactive in learning about tax policies and related policies. The support department of the Tax Department has answered many questions from business households about new regulations related to households such as: Invoices for purchasing input goods, proving the origin of goods, payment methods when selling goods and providing services, issuing invoices when selling goods and handling administrative violations related to households.

Basically, households have been aware of law enforcement with the desire to do business transparently and fairly. However, there are still some cases where households do not understand correctly the regulations on determining taxable revenue, so the Tax Department recommends that business households need to clearly understand: If they do business and sell goods, they must declare and pay taxes and issue invoices. If they collect in cash, transfer money through a bank or any other payment method through a financial intermediary, they are still responsible for declaring and paying taxes on the revenue from selling goods and providing services that the taxpayer actually receives.

Comrade Nguyen Huy Hong - Head of Tax Department of Region VIII said: In the coming time, the Tax sector will continue to effectively implement propaganda methods such as through social networking applications; direct Tax Teams to proactively establish mobile support teams to directly support people, establish a standing team to deploy electronic invoices generated from cash registers for business households. The focus of propaganda work is the content of instructions and encouragement to switch from contract households to declaration households, regulations on accounting books for declaration households according to Circular 88/2021/TT-BTC dated October 11, 2021 of the Ministry of Finance , regulations on origin of goods, regulations on tax declaration when doing business on e-commerce platforms...

With the timely and dedicated support of the tax sector's staff, a deep and widespread information system will be established to all business households, thereby raising awareness of tax law compliance of business households in the province.
