Banks in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai work through holidays to pay out 100,000 VND in gifts to people

This is information provided by Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region II Branch, regarding the payment situation during the September 2 holiday.

Accordingly, the banking sector in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai has coordinated with the State Treasury to promptly meet the cash needs of local authorities, especially in mountainous, rural and remote areas of the province, to promptly pay the Government's Independence Day gifts to people on time for the holiday.

The State Bank of Region 2 has directed payment tasks in the entire banking system in the Southeast region. Credit institutions, especially the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) system with branches and transaction offices in communes in Dong Nai province, proactively performed well banking services during the holiday.

In particular, using a combination of all payment methods and coordinating with the State Treasury to promptly meet the cash needs of local authorities, especially in mountainous, rural and remote areas of the province.

The banking sector in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province promptly met the cash needs of local authorities to pay Independence Day gifts to people on time for the holiday.

"On August 30, Dong Nai province spent 30 billion VND in cash (in denominations of 100,000 VND) for Agribank branches in the area to pay and give Government gifts to people in communes in the area (formerly Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts) to ensure that people receive Government gifts on time for Independence Day" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh said.

In addition, the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 branch, also requested credit institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province to organize and implement service activities well during the holidays: ensure smooth operation of ATM systems; effective operation of electronic banking services, online payments, guide customers, people and promptly handle arising incidents (if any)... At the same time, ensure security and safety of headquarters and banking activities during the holidays.

The State Treasury has just issued Official Dispatch No. 9823 dated August 29, 2025 to adjust system operations, ensuring payment of the Government's VND 100,000 gift to the people.

Previously, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 149 dated August 28 on giving gifts to people nationwide on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The gift amount is 100,000 VND/person, for all people to celebrate Independence Day.
