- On July 29, Lang Son Provincial Police coordinated with the State Bank of Vietnam and the Lang Son Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to organize a program to donate funds to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Lang Son province. Attending the program were comrades: Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dao Minh Tu, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Major General Nguyen Tien Trung, Director of the Provincial Police and leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.
Speaking at the program, the leader of the State Bank of Vietnam stated: Responding to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" , the banking industry has launched the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate 1,000 temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide. Accordingly, the Board of Directors of the State Bank of Vietnam decided to support Lang Son province with 4 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. This source of funding is contributed from 1 day's salary of officials, union members and workers in the entire industry.
"We hope that with the money donated today, the banking sector will contribute to supporting the disadvantaged people of Lang Son province to improve their housing conditions and gradually improve their quality of life," the Standing Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam emphasized.
Speaking at the program, Comrade Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In recent years, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Lang Son province has always received attention and direction and achieved positive results. In the period of 2021 - 2023, the whole province has supported the construction and repair of houses for more than 4,000 households with a total cost of over 213 billion VND. Currently, the whole province still has about 13,000 unstable houses, of which more than 6,500 houses of poor and near-poor households need support for improvement.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam and all officers and employees in the entire banking sector for providing financial support to households in difficult circumstances in Lang Son province. At the same time, the province committed to managing and using the funding sources publicly, transparently and effectively. Along with that, it will urgently deploy to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, in order to help poor households soon settle down and stabilize their lives.
