Báo Giao thôngBáo Giao thông12/01/2025

Package A1-1 of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project builds two intersections connecting National Highway 1 to the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, opening the gateway to the Western provinces, expected to open to traffic before Lunar New Year 2025.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is 57.8km long, passing through Long An province, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai . The total initial investment is 31,320 billion VND, using loans from ADB, JICA and domestic counterpart funds. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project is invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC - under the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises).

Construction started in July 2014 and the project is expected to be completed and put into use in 2019.

However, the implementation process encountered difficulties, especially in terms of capital, so the project missed the deadline many times. According to the plan, this expressway project will be completed in September 2025, but recently the investor continued to propose extending the completion time to September 2026.

When this intersection is completed, it will reduce traffic pressure on National Highway 1 from the West to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa, which is currently overloaded.
