During the hottest days, the number of people flocking to swimming pools to "cool off" increases dramatically, especially on weekends. When many parents choose swimming as a relaxing and healthy sport for their children, ensuring safety at swimming pools needs to be taken into consideration and focused on.
The hot weather, at only 8am, the number of people flocking to the swimming pool of Mai The He Sports Center ( Ninh Binh City) is increasing, causing the ticket inspectors to work urgently and hard. Ms. Hanh Nguyen (Tan Thanh Ward, Ninh Binh City) said that since the end of the school year, she has been looking for a place for her daughter to go swimming during the summer. Through a survey, this year the entrance fee to some swimming pools that she often goes to has increased compared to last year, so Ms. Nguyen decided to invest in a 100-session swimming package at the 4-season swimming pool at Mai The He Sports Center. The swimming pool is large, convenient and very clean, divided into 2 areas. One area for swimming lessons and swimming and one area for children to play.
"It's been hot these past few days, so I take my kids swimming almost every day. Although the entrance fee to the swimming pool is not cheap and is sold in packages, the number of visitors to the swimming pool is still very large. Knowing that the number of people coming to the swimming pool will be high on holidays and between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., I usually take my kids swimming early on weekdays. My kids are very excited to go swimming to relax. However, the large number of visitors to the swimming pool also affects their long-distance swimming practice to some extent," said Ms. Nguyen.
Mrs. Binh - over 60 years old, but still maintains the habit of swimming every week. Mrs. Binh and a few friends bought a yearly swimming package at the Mai The He Sports Center swimming pool and maintained a regular schedule of swimming 3 times a week. But in the summer, at the peak of the heat, Mrs. Binh goes swimming almost every day. Mrs. Binh shared: We go swimming all year round to stay healthy. In the summer, we bring our grandchildren to learn to swim. Because in the summer, most of the guests at the swimming pool are children, safety is a top priority. The swimming pool has arranged lifeguards to work very focused, in addition, there are water level warnings in each area to ensure the safety of guests when participating in swimming. So we are very assured.
Mr. Tung, an employee of Mai The He Sports Center, said that with the characteristic of a four-season swimming pool, the swimming pool attracts visitors at all times of the year. However, the number of visitors will increase from mid-May, with an average of hundreds of visitors per day, the busiest time being from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., especially on weekends and hot days. In addition to accepting visitors to swim, the center also teaches swimming on request with qualified coaches. To ensure that visitors can use the swimming pool service with peace of mind, the water source in the swimming pool is always guaranteed to be clean, with a vacuum cleaner cleaning the bottom of the pool and a circulating water filtration system operating continuously.
In particular, it is clearly defined that ensuring safety at the swimming pool must be an important requirement, given top priority, the swimming pool has strictly implemented regulations on safety, prevention and drowning prevention during operation. At the swimming pool, there are always 2 or more lifeguards on duty regularly. Around the swimming pool area, there are columns to regulate the depth of the water level, lifebuoys are arranged along the swimming pool... The weather is hot and sunny, the number of guests is large, so the staff must work at full capacity.
As for Ms. Tran Thi Ly in Phuc Thanh ward, right from the beginning of summer, she registered her child for a swimming course at the 1/6 Swimming Pool, Thanh Center, Provincial Children's Center. Ms. Ly shared, right from the beginning of the year, I planned to let my child learn to swim this summer. Therefore, as soon as the school year ended, I registered my child to participate, hoping that he could swim well when the summer ended. Although the swimming pool area is not as large as many other pools, the morning here is only for swimming classes, only the afternoon is open to welcome swimmers. Therefore, even though the number of visitors to the pool increases sharply on hot days, it does not affect the children's swimming lessons.
Mr. Dam Van Hai, Director of the Provincial Youth Center, said that the 1/6 Swimming Pool is mainly used to organize swimming classes for children. In the morning, there will be 6-8 swimming classes, each class has 10-20 children. In the afternoon, the swimming pool opens to welcome children to swim freely with a ticket price of 20,000 VND/time. With a very reasonable ticket price, the number of children coming to swim every day is very large, from 100-200 people coming to swim every day. The number of children coming to swim will be larger on hot days or weekends. In order to meet the increasing needs of customers, the swimming pool has continuously invested in upgrading facilities, fully equipped with water filtration systems, changing rooms, bathrooms, and arranged lifeguards on duty throughout the day...
"Summer is an opportunity for parents to entertain their children after a hard year of studying. There are many gifted classes opened during the summer to create a useful playground for children. However, swimming is still considered to be the subject chosen by many parents this summer. In addition to strengthening and upgrading swimming pool facilities, we also prepare human resources to meet the needs of children learning to swim. Not only teaching swimming at the pool, the Center also coordinates with many localities and schools to organize propaganda classes, instructing on drowning prevention skills; safe escape skills in water for young children. Thereby, we hope to contribute to minimizing the number of drowning accidents in children" - Mr. Dam Van Hai said.
