The Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid, Ministry of Justice organized training conferences to improve capacity in legal aid for village and hamlet officials, mass organizations, and prestigious people in the community in two remote communes of Ea Sup and Lien Son Lak, Dak Lak province.
The main objective of the Conferences is to equip legal knowledge on legal aid for grassroots cadres and prestigious people in the community, thereby promoting the role of a "bridge" between the people and the Dak Lak Provincial State Legal Aid Center.
This is a meaningful activity to increase access to legal aid services for people, especially the poor, those with revolutionary contributions, and the disadvantaged in society, thereby contributing to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of those receiving legal aid, effectively implementing mass mobilization work, and promoting democracy at the grassroots level.
At the Conference, delegates listened to two legal reporters, Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha, Chief of Office of the Department of Dissemination, Legal Education and Legal Aid, Ministry of Justice and Mr. Nguyen Dac Tuan, Doctor of Law, senior lecturer at Hanoi Law University, discuss and convey basic contents about legal aid such as: What is legal aid? Who is eligible for legal aid? Forms of legal aid; rights and obligations of eligible legal aid recipients; requests for legal aid...
Thereby, helping village and hamlet cadres, mass organizations, and prestigious people in the community better understand legal aid work to spread legal regulations on legal aid to people in general and the poor, people with revolutionary contributions, and disadvantaged people in society in particular.
Standing Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Ea Sup Commune Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhung said that legal aid for people in Ea Sup Commune is extremely important, especially after the implementation of two-level local government and the merger of communes and wards. In particular, the team of village and hamlet officials, mass organizations, and prestigious people in the community play a very important role in helping people access legal aid services conveniently.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak Commune Dang Xuan Kien shared: After the process of merging communes and wards according to the policy of streamlining the administrative apparatus of the Party and State, organizing specialized training courses like this is extremely necessary to fill the gap in legal knowledge, improve awareness and skills for grassroots officials, those who are close to the people. Thereby, helping grassroots officials and prestigious people in the community promptly grasp the difficulties and problems of people in the process of accessing and enforcing the law.
In the context of increasingly developing society, legal relations become more complicated, the capacity building activities for grassroots officials and prestigious people in the community on legal aid play a very important role. Legal aid work is gradually becoming a trusted address for people in general and those receiving legal aid in particular, contributing to ensuring human rights and civil rights.
