School year 2025-2026: Joyful atmosphere of opening ceremony and aspiration for educational innovation

On the morning of September 5, joining the joyful atmosphere of the whole country, more than 1,300 educational institutions in the province simultaneously held the Opening Ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026. The schoolyards were filled with colorful flags and flowers, the atmosphere was bustling and joyful, marking an exciting start for teachers and students to enter the new school year.

The 2025-2026 school year has special significance as this is the first time the Ministry of Education and Training has organized a national opening ceremony in conjunction with the program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training).

From early morning, at schools from the plains to the mountains, more than 700 thousand pupils and thousands of students in neat uniforms gathered, ready for the festival of the whole education sector. This year's opening day is even more meaningful for students of the first and last grades such as: grade 1, grade 6, grade 10, grade 9, grade 12, who were welcomed by the schools to receive the flag-raising ceremony and immerse themselves in the sacred atmosphere of the opening ceremony at the new school.

In mountainous schools and ethnic minority areas, the atmosphere of the opening ceremony of the new school year is no less bustling. The bright smiles and eager eyes of children on their way to school, along with the colorful traditional dresses, have created a picture of the opening day of school that is both simple and full of color and emotion.

Cu Pui II Primary School (Cu Pui Commune) is one of the schools in remote areas of the province. The school has 3 satellite schools and 1 main school with 1,131 students. Due to the characteristics of the remote schools, on the morning of September 4, the school held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year for 201 students at Ea Rok school first. On the morning of September 5, the school held the opening ceremony for 2 satellite schools and 1 main school, while students at Ea Rok school attended the opening ceremony online in class via TV screen.

Dinh Nup Ethnic Boarding School (Phu Mo Commune) has 197 students from grades 6 to 9, including 1 Kinh student and the rest are ethnic minority students. Although many students' homes are 8km away from the school, on the morning of September 5, they arrived very early and in full force to attend the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year. According to Mr. Do Thanh Vinh, Principal of Dinh Nup Ethnic Boarding School, this year's opening ceremony was simple, but fully followed the instructions of the Department of Education and Training. From 7:00 to 7:50, in addition to the flag-raising ceremony and welcoming 6th grade students, the school coordinated with benefactors to give gifts to disadvantaged students in the school. After that, all teachers and students attended the online opening ceremony of the Ministry of Education and Training and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training) on ​​TV screens.

The 2025-2026 school year is also a special school year after the province's merger. Students from the East of the province followed their parents to the West to work and study. They were accepted and encouraged by schools to help them stabilize their psychology, quickly integrate into the new learning environment and excitedly go to school to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year with their friends.

At the opening ceremony of the new school year, the Ministry of Education and Training said that, in the past 80 years, like a miracle, from the context of a country with 95% of the population being illiterate, a sparse intellectual class, the number of higher education schools counted on the fingers, and many years of war... up to now, the whole country has completed universal education from 5-year-old kindergarten to the end of junior high school.

The 2025-2026 school year is a year of special significance, in the context of implementing the two-level local government model and this is also the first school year the whole country implements Resolution 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development... Therefore, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son called on the entire sector, from managers to teachers, staff and all students to prepare mentally and spiritually, unite and successfully complete the 10 key tasks and solutions set out by the sector. In particular, the education sector will continue to innovate and improve the quality of preschool education, general education and continuing education; develop a team of teachers and managers of educational institutions to meet the requirements of education and training innovation; at the same time, improve the efficiency of state budget use, mobilize investment resources to strengthen facilities and improve the quality of education and training...

According to Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan: "To organize the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, combined with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education, the Department of Education and Training directed educational institutions in the province to proactively organize in-person and online programs. In the new school year 2025-2026, the education sector will continue to pay more attention to students in remote and disadvantaged areas, "upgrade" teachers, innovate teaching methods and student assessment, strongly apply information technology in teaching and student management to contribute to the education sector nationwide to successfully implement Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development".
