Improve management efficiency and safety in chemical operations

*Experts from the Department of Chemicals ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) disseminate new points in the Chemical Law 2025.*

On the morning of September 9, the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Department of Chemicals (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to disseminate the Chemical Law 2025, safety work in chemical activities and implement the reporting regime on chemical activities on the National Chemical Database System.

Attending the conference were more than 200 delegates representing city departments, branches, commune-level People's Committees and businesses operating in the chemical sector in the city.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade Pham Tuan Hai emphasized that the Chemical Law 2025 is an important step in completing the legal corridor on chemicals, aiming to improve the effectiveness of state management, ensuring safety for people, property and the environment.

Hai Phong is a large industrial center with many businesses operating in the chemical industry, so the timely dissemination of new legal regulations is an essential task to ensure economic development in parallel with safety and sustainability. Delegates, especially businesses, are requested to proactively grasp the new regulations, closely coordinate with management agencies to develop and apply chemical safety procedures appropriate to their units' realities.

At the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Chemicals Pham Huy Nam Son introduced the outstanding new contents of the Law on Chemicals, passed by the National Assembly on June 14, 2025, effective from January 1, 2026.

According to Mr. Son, in addition to promoting the development of the chemical industry in a modern direction, the law also focuses on protecting human health and the environment, in accordance with international commitments that Vietnam is participating in.

On this occasion, many questions and difficulties of Hai Phong enterprises in the process of implementing legal regulations were also answered by experts from the Department of Chemicals, the Center for Incident Response and Chemical Safety at the conference, contributing to supporting enterprises in complying with the law, while raising awareness of risk prevention and chemical incident response.

Through the conference, Hai Phong's industry and trade sector affirmed its commitment to accompany businesses in implementing the Chemical Law 2025, gradually improving the effectiveness of state management, minimizing risks and contributing to the development of a safe, modern and environmentally friendly chemical industry.
