After more than a year of implementation, the Responsible Green Tick program on modern distribution channels has helped Ho Chi Minh City consumers easily participate in managing the quality of goods. By simply looking up and responding on the website, customers can receive transparent information and directly report to managers. The Green Tick labeling has initially doubled the level of quality control of consumer goods, creating trust and motivation for both businesses and consumers.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, the Responsible Green Tick system has now digitized about 3,000 products from more than 330 suppliers. Not only limited to fresh fruits and vegetables, the program has expanded to many packaged products. In particular, Blockchain technology is applied for monitoring: products with quality complaints will be immediately blocked, recalled and verified promptly.
Mr. Dao Ha Trung - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City High Technology Association, emphasized: "Consumers cannot evaluate quality themselves. The responsibility for control belongs to the State, suppliers and distribution systems - those who are qualified to verify and publish transparently".
Each blockchain QR code is associated with an actual image of the product, likened to an “honorary passport”. If there is a discrepancy between the stamp and the image, the system will quickly detect it when consumers scan the code.
Representatives of major retailers all highly appreciated the program.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Head of Bach Hoa Xanh Quality Department, said: "We and the High Technology Association will support any supplier who is having difficulties 24/7. In the future, 100% of suppliers to Bach Hoa Xanh must have a responsible green tick. This is both a product commitment and a step to accompany and control."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh - CEO of Mekong Delta Foods, shared: "We are very proud to dare to take responsibility for the product. The green tick is also an encouragement when the product is recognized by consumers as being of high quality."
Ms. Vo Thi Bich Thuy - Acting Manager of High-end Products - Saigon Co.op Business Department, commented: "Whether participating or not, suppliers must manage quality. However, the Blue Tick helps them affirm the reputation of their products more clearly."
In fact, consumers can easily participate in monitoring through their own product experiences. The supply chain thus creates natural pressure, forcing manufacturers and distributors to voluntarily improve quality and maintain their commitment to transparency.
Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed: "In this survey, we focus on quality control, not just advocacy. The green tick needs to become a guideline for businesses to proactively do things more systematically."
Green Tick stamp of responsibility helps to clarify the origin and quality of goods
In the context of expanding administrative boundaries of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to increase the application of Blockchain in goods management. At that time, the Green Tick of Responsibility will not only be an identification label, but also an "implicit commitment" to quality, process and production ethics.
Tightening discipline and transparency in the supply chain will contribute to forming a safe and sustainable consumer market that meets the expectations of both businesses and consumers.
