In the sacred and heroic atmosphere of the 80th National Day celebrations, on the evening of September 1, a special music program celebrating the 80th anniversary of Independence - Freedom - Happiness was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the National Stadium (My Dinh, Hanoi).

Before the concert, the audience sang in unison "As if there was Uncle Ho on the great victory day ". Although a slight technical problem caused the show to start a few minutes later than scheduled, the chants of "Long live Vietnam" and tens of thousands of spectators creating light waves with light sticks gradually stirred up the atmosphere in the stands.

Heroic, emotional

At exactly 8:12 p.m., the opening performance My Fatherland performed by the Symphony and National Orchestra made the whole stadium burst into excitement. The performance was elaborately invested with the highlight being the laser light show, combined with mapping technology, depicting the image of our ancestors from the early days of nation building, through the length of history with many important milestones until Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence at the historic Ba Dinh Square...

Next, the medley of "Volunteer" and "Praise the Fatherland" resounded with great heroism. Vu Thang Loi's powerful and passionate voice was the most suitable choice to awaken the emotional atmosphere before the concert entered the main chapters.

The 80-year Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness is divided into 3 chapters, with very different levels of emotions. Chapter 1 is called The Road to Independence - Unification. This is the path of those who fell so that the Fatherland could rise up, the sacred foundation of an independent, unified and eternal Vietnam.

The structure of the chapter therefore includes many heroic songs, glorifying the journey to regain independence and national unity, written with the blood and courage of many generations of ancestors.

The highlight right from the beginning of the chapter is the Xam performance Dat nuoc canh beo performed by artist Nguyen Van Minh. Vu Thang Loi continues the heroic atmosphere through the song Dau chan tien, along with the elaborate animation recreating Nguyen Ai Quoc's journey to find a way to save the country after witnessing the people falling into misery.

With all gratitude and pride, the emotional lyrics "Footprints of a long standing posture/Heavy shoulders are the Fatherland/Surely your eyes are filled with tears/Your heart is burning with anger" touch the hearts of every audience.

The heroic spirit was even more intense when the melody of The Internationale; Together We Go Red Soldiers & The National Guard resounded, accompanied by the scene of Vietnamese people "shake off the mud" and stand up together to create a revolution. The combination of Dong Hung, Hoang Hiep and Anh Tu with the symphony orchestra made the atmosphere in the stands "heat up" visibly.

A touching scene was when tens of thousands of spectators hummed along to the joyful, exciting tune of August 19. Then, that joy turned to a proud silence when the Declaration of Independence was resounded.

From that moment on, the atmosphere of the concert changed dramatically, becoming more vibrant, expressing a Vietnam filled with joy after gaining freedom. The joy of the nation was only complete when the North and South were unified. That was when the lyrics of Liberation of the South and The Country Full of Joy were sung out enthusiastically in a new and strange arrangement.

Chapter 1 of the concert finally ended beautifully with the melodies of Mother Loves Child and What's More Beautiful? The moment the cast of Red Rain - the war movie that has been a box office hit in recent days - appeared, the sound of the audience cheering filled the stadium. Many people were moved to tears when listening to Nguyen Hung's simple yet soulful singing.

"The war is over if you haven't come back yet.
Mom, cheer up, you have a heroic son”...

Proud

Entering the new chapter, Aspiration for the Fatherland , the emotions of thousands of spectators at My Dinh Stadium are dyed in a new color. That is the color of pride, when the nation enters an era of innovation, development and aspiration to rise high.

Den Vau made the whole stadium explode when he appeared in a special rap part between the medley of Em di dau bien vang and Hat ve cay lua hom nay. If Khanh Chi's clear, high-pitched voice painted a hopeful scene of the country in the early days of construction and innovation, Den Vau's impressive rap rhymes combined with Delivery strongly inspired the audience.

Meanwhile, My Tam had a powerful performance when showing off her voice in "Aspiration of Youth" - as the song's title - expressing the passionate, fiery spirit of the youth in the process of building and developing the country. With a thick, warm, and splendid voice in the middle range, the powerful belting notes of the "brown-haired nightingale" conquered thousands of audiences. The arrangement is not new, but the combination with rapper Double 2T brings extra points to this performance.

Hoang Bach and Hang Lamoon continue that exciting flow of emotions with Welcome to Vietnam - included in the EP Loi Trai Tim Viet Nam that Hoang Bach recently released. Not many audiences know the lyrics of this song, but the catchy melody and the cheerful repetition of "Welcome to Vietnam" in the chorus make many people hum along enthusiastically.

The final chapter of the 80-year Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness, called My Fatherland, has never been so beautiful . The vibrant, exciting atmosphere was pushed to a climax with vibrant, fresh songs when dressed in modern arrangements.

The inspirational melody of Unity Power (original song: Joining Hands Together ) convincingly expressed that spirit, through the performance of Hong Ngoc and rapper Quan Lee.

However, the atmosphere really exploded when Soobin Hoang Son appeared, stirring up tens of thousands of viewers with the performance Vinh quang dang doi ta. His ability to control the stage and interact with the audience helped Soobin take the spotlight, while My Dinh Stadium exploded with the endless screams and cheers of fans.

The national concert on the evening of September 1 ended with the melody that evoked patriotism, solidarity and national pride of Tien Quan Ca (sung by Trong Tan) and Yeu Nu Cuoi Viet Nam (Sung by Tung Duong and Thanh Lam). Today's Vietnamese smile can be said to be the smile of a heroic nation, having gone through the storms of war, overcoming hardships and challenges to create 80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness.

Some minor limitations such as the sound still having problems, or the stage allocation not being able to maximize its effectiveness. In addition, the setlist in the concert sometimes did not really create a smooth enough emotional transition. However, the special art program still ended quite completely, with the belief that the nation is looking towards a bright future ahead, in indescribable pride and gratitude for the great contributions of the previous generation.
