According to Bloomberg , the US Treasury Department plans to announce 15 individual sanctions against officials linked to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who are accused of obstructing the organization of free and fair presidential elections.
The sanctions list includes members of Venezuela's electoral body, courts, National Assembly, intelligence and military police.
In addition, Washington plans to impose separate sanctions on some individuals responsible for financial problems. The announcement of new sanctions could come as early as this week.
In the presidential election in Venezuela held on July 28, the Venezuelan National Electoral Council declared Mr. Nicolas Maduro as President-elect for the 2025-2031 term.

Prosecutor General Tarek Saab shared a photo of the arrest warrant with the press via a message on the Telegram app. The warrant was issued at the request of prosecutor Luis Ernesto Duenez, who accused González of conspiracy to usurp power, falsification of public documents, incitement to rebellion against the law, and conspiracy against the Venezuelan state.
Previously, Mr. González failed to comply with three summonses to testify in the case of an opposition website announcing incorrect results in the Venezuelan presidential election.
