Celebrate National Day September 2nd, visit museums in Ho Chi Minh City for free

Exhibitions of typical works celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day at the Fine Arts Museum and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association... are interesting destinations for the city's public on the occasion of September 2.

On the occasion of September 2nd, museums in Ho Chi Minh City and the City Fine Arts Association all have special activities, some places offer free admission on September 2nd.

Some museums are free to visit.

These days, museums in Ho Chi Minh City welcome many tourists and students. This is an ideal place for the public, especially the young, to better understand the history and culture of the nation and show gratitude to previous generations.

To celebrate National Day September 2, some museums in Ho Chi Minh City will offer free admission to students and residents of Ho Chi Minh City (bring ID card and student card) on September 2, including: Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, Ho Chi Minh City Museum, Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History. Ton Duc Thang Museum and Southern Women's Museum offer free admission every day.

Ho Chi Minh City Museum (65 Ly Tu Trong, Saigon Ward) is having a special exhibition "The process of urban development of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through documents of rivers and canals, past and present", on display until October 15.

The public has the opportunity to go back in history, learning about more than 300 years of formation and development of the city through images and valuable documents about the river and canal system.

As a destination that always attracts visitors during major holidays, the War Remnants Museum (28 Vo Van Tan, Xuan Hoa Ward) currently has nine permanent exhibition topics and a short-term topic "Continuing the story of peace ", part of the 50-year journey of "Museum for Peace".

Going beyond the role of preserving and displaying evidence of war, this place has become a symbol of reconciliation and humanity as well as a cultural symbol of Ho Chi Minh City.

Stamp lovers can visit the stamp exhibition "80 years of Vietnam reaching out to the sea", on display until September 27 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History (2 Nguyen Binh Khiem, Saigon Ward) with three meaningful stamp collections: "Vietnam on World Stamps" and " World stamps tell the story of Vietnam"; "August Revolution 1945 and National Day September 2 on postage stamps"; medals, badges, and emblems of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the early period.

The event honors the documentary and artistic value of postage stamps, which are also considered "messengers of peace" with images of the country, people, and historical events of Vietnam... placed on stamps issued by other countries, demonstrating the connection between Vietnam and the international community.

Explore cultural history

Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts (97A Pho Duc Chinh, Ben Thanh Ward) has two exhibitions on the occasion of September 2nd, running until September 5th: "Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man", displaying 80 works (including 59 oil paintings by the late overseas Vietnamese artist Dao Trong Ly and 21 propaganda paintings by artists from the Indochina College of Fine Arts).

The public has the opportunity to explore the great revolutionary journey of President Ho Chi Minh through diverse and sophisticated works of art. From the historic moment of the leader reading the Declaration of Independence to the familiar and simple moments of daily life, Uncle Ho's portrait appears full of emotion in the eyes of the authors.

In parallel, the exhibition brings together outstanding works of painters and sculptors in Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast and the Mekong Delta during the 2019-2024 term of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

The exhibition displays 66 works highly appreciated for their ideas, forms of expression, creativity in artistic language, reflecting concerns about contemporary social life and being part of the Vietnamese fine art picture over the past five years.

At the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association (218A Pasteur, Xuan Hoa Ward), there is an exhibition of ink paintings to celebrate National Day. This is an annual activity for those who love ink paintings in general and the Chinese art community in Ho Chi Minh City, becoming a meaningful event to spread the values ​​of ink paintings, from traditional ink paintings to contemporary ink paintings.

At the second facility - Contemporary Art Space at 1 Einstein, Thu Duc Ward, the Fine Arts Association is displaying a special exhibition with 42 paintings by 42 authors in Ho Chi Minh City. Looking back on the 80-year journey, the artist living in peace always appreciates the achievements of generations in building the country.

Each work is a part of real life, praising people and reflecting many perspectives on the social life of Ho Chi Minh City, from infrastructure development to modern industry and science... which are increasingly changing and developing in the present and future.
