Bruno Fernandes is reportedly in talks with Al-Ittihad. |
According to British media, the Portuguese star's representative unexpectedly had a direct meeting with the Saudi Pro League club, and the initial conversation went quite positively.
Previously in June, Fernandes had rejected a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal. However, Al-Ittihad persistently pursued and determined to bring the "Red Devils" captain to play alongside famous stars such as Karim Benzema, Moussa Diaby or N'Golo Kanté.
Sources revealed that Fernandes demanded a contract worth £33 million/year if he went to the Middle East. The 30-year-old midfielder has repeatedly affirmed his loyalty to MU, but has not ruled out the possibility of leaving if the club wants to sell.
"I've always been honest. I'm here until the club thinks it's time to leave. If the club thinks it's time to sell me to make a profit, that's part of football. I want to contribute more, but if that day comes, I'll respect the decision."
Meanwhile, MU had a positive transfer period when spending more than 200 million pounds to bring in 3 strikers including Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko. Although they did not score in the opening match of the Premier League against Arsenal, this trio still left a positive signal.
MU is also keeping an eye on Brighton's young midfielder Carlos Baleba. If Al-Ittihad really spends a lot of money and MU agrees to let him go, Fernandes could become the next blockbuster to join the Saudi Pro League. On the contrary, the "Red Devils" will have more money to cover the transfer fee.
