The benchmark score is 13.7 points higher than the floor score based on the high school graduation exam results, a record gap between the floor score and the benchmark score recorded in this year's admission season.
This gap appears in the field of Automatic Control Engineering Technology (trained in Vietnamese) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

This industry has a floor score of only 15 points but a benchmark score of up to 28.7, 13.7 points away;
The 12-13 point gap between the floor score and the standard score also appears in many other majors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
Specifically, the floor score is only 15, but the benchmark score of the Chemical Engineering Technology major (trained in Vietnamese) has a benchmark score of 28.35, 13.35 points from the floor score; the Mechatronic Engineering Technology major (trained in Vietnamese) has a benchmark score of 27.7, 12.7 points from the floor score; the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence major has a benchmark score of 27.5, 12.5 points from the floor score...
Many other training majors of this school have benchmark scores from 8 to 12 points higher than the floor score. The major with the lowest benchmark score to enter this school is Wood and Interior Engineering with 21.1 benchmark scores, which is more than 6 points higher than the floor score.
The large gap between the floor score and the benchmark score this year is also concentrated in many pedagogical training majors, especially in two pedagogical training majors at the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) and the University of Foreign Languages (Hue University).
Specifically, the minimum admission score for the two majors of English Pedagogy and Chinese Pedagogy of the two schools above is 19 points, the minimum admission score for the Pedagogy major according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
Meanwhile, the admission score for English Pedagogy and Chinese Pedagogy at these two foreign language universities is 30 points, 11 points above the floor score.
The Japanese Language Education and Korean Language Education majors at the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) have benchmark scores of 28.1 and 27.81, 9.1 and 8.81 points above the floor score, respectively.
The French Pedagogy Department of the University of Foreign Languages ( Hue University) has a benchmark score of 27.4, 8.4 points from the floor score. The Chinese Language Department of this school has a floor score of 16, the benchmark score is up to 26.5, 10.5 points apart.
At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), there are also a series of majors with benchmark scores far above the floor scores.
In 2025, all majors of this school will have a floor score of 19. Of which, the benchmark score for the C00 combination of Psychology is 29, 10 points away; the benchmark score for Public Relations is 28.95, 9.95 points away from the floor score; the benchmark score for Journalism is 28.2, 9.2 points away from the floor score.
Some other majors have benchmark scores 8-9 points higher than the floor score, such as Oriental Studies, History, Korean Studies, Cinema and Popular Arts, Hotel Management, Office Management, Sociology, Literature, Cultural Studies, etc.
The floor score and the standard score in each university entrance exam are the factors that candidates are most interested in. Through the floor score and the standard score of the years, candidates of the following year can evaluate the overall level of interest, competition and heat of many professions and schools.

The benchmark scores for 2025 have many unexpected fluctuations, many majors have left candidates "out of breath" (Photo: Hoai Nam).
With the “dancing” and fluctuating benchmark scores like this year, many surprises occurred when many majors and many schools had high admission scores. The benchmark scores of many majors and many schools increased compared to the floor score, surpassing all predictions and making candidates “out of breath”.
But on the contrary, it is also noted that in many schools and many professions, the standard score is equal to or only 1-2 points higher than the floor score.
A series of majors at Hoa Sen University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology, Van Hien University... have benchmark scores equal to the floor scores, expanding the opportunity for candidates to be admitted to university.
