Miwa recently celebrated his 110th birthday at Gardena Temple, California (USA), with his 3 sons, 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

He said: I am very lucky to have my sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and relatives always by my side.

According to the American Gerontology Research Group, Miwa is the oldest living Japanese-American. Her parents are Japanese immigrants. Miwa received a business degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

He said he is in very good health now. So what is his secret?

Miwa nourishes her mind and soul by staying positive. In addition to her regular 4-mile walk every morning, she controls what she eats while still enjoying her favorite foods.

Eat noodles every day

Miwa said her favorite food and what she eats every day is noodles. She said she eats noodles at least once a day because they are often the main ingredient in her favorite meals.

"I like spaghetti, udon, ramen, soba and any kind of noodles," Miwa shared, according to Best Life.

Miwa said her passion for noodles began during her childhood, when she lived in the Guadalupe Temple nursery.

Besides noodles, Miwa said she also enjoys reading, sewing and flower arranging.

Rest and faith are also the most important things to him. Family is also the motivation for him to live life to the fullest.

He wrote in his autobiography: Because my mother died too early, I never enjoyed the warmth and love of a family. Later, when I had children, I deeply felt what a complete family was like, according to Best Life.
