Messi considers leaving Inter Miami

Messi's current contract with Inter Miami expires at the end of 2025. According to journalist Esteban Edul, the legendary striker may not renew his contract with the MLS team after that time. The contract he signed when he joined the team in 2023 has a 12-month extension clause, but it has not been activated yet.

Edul said Messi is considering playing in a more competitive league in the final six months before Argentina begin their World Cup defence. Negotiations with Inter Miami have been put on hold for now.

Meanwhile, a source from Inter Miami revealed to journalist Fabrizio Romano: "Leo still has a contract until the end of 2025. The fact is that both sides want to continue this relationship. The necessary procedures are being carried out. Everything is going positively."

Previously, journalist Guillem Balague also shared with the BBC that "Messi's family is feeling happy in the US". This could be a sign that M10 can continue to stay in this country for another year, until the 2026 World Cup begins.
