The only goal of the game came in the ninth minute, after a poor clearance by a Bournemouth defender allowed Casemiro to volley close to the goal, leaving the goalkeeper no chance to block. United then squandered the opportunity and would have paid the price at the end of the match if it had not been for the talent of goalkeeper David de Gea. The victory puts United just one win away from a Champions League spot in their next two games.
