According to talkSPORT , the Etihad team is considering sharing the salary with clubs that want to borrow Walker and Grealish in the summer transfer window this year. Both have high incomes at Man City and are not willing to reduce their salary if they move to a new team.
The Guardian reports that Walker has agreed to join Everton next season. However, the club have not yet agreed a deal with City over a permanent deal or a 12-month loan. Fulham have also expressed interest in Walker but are unable to meet his wages.
Grealish has attracted interest from Napoli, who are looking to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in attack, but Napoli are unable to match the £300,000-a-week wages Grealish is earning at the Etihad.
This means Man City will have to pay a portion, possibly up to 50%, of the England international's salary for the deal to go through.
Aston Villa is another potential destination for Grealish. However, the English midfielder has not received any offers from his former team. Aston Villa's current budget is also considered insufficient to pay Grealish's entire salary.
Grealish and Walker have won many titles with Man City. However, coach Pep Guardiola has made a drastic reform after the disappointing 2024/25 season. The presence of a series of new players in recent times has caused these two stars to lose their positions.
