Nearly two decades ago, when other products were still being produced using hot extraction technology, Tan Hiep Phat owned dozens of Aseptic cold extraction technology lines from GEA to produce Number 1 energy drink.

Sharing about the breakthrough of Aseptic cold extraction technology, Mr. Vincent Mauer - General Director of GEA Vietnam and Philippines Co., Ltd. said: “This method preserves the nutritional value and flavor of the beverage better than the traditional pasteurization method that can degrade nutrients and change the flavor. In addition, it can also extend the shelf life without preservatives, ensuring stable quality and matching consumer preferences”.

Cold extraction technology and sterile properties on the Aseptic line system have helped Number 1 achieve Halal certification for Muslim countries since 2016.

Since 2017, Number 1 energy drink has met US FDA standards. According to the manufacturer, Number 1's Aseptic cold extraction technology is continuously upgraded to help reduce water consumption by up to 91%. Thanks to that, each Number 1 energy drink production line can save up to 97,500m3 of water per year, equivalent to the amount of water used by 2,100 people in one year.

Number 1 energy drink PET bottles have also reduced their weight by 50%, from 27g to 13.5g, equivalent to a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions per bottle. “This allows Number 1 to achieve its sustainable development goals,” said Vincent Mauer, General Director of GEA Vietnam and Philippines Co., Ltd.
