Floods on the Ma River are rising, with a high risk of flooding in riverside areas.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - According to the Thanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station, the water level in the upper Ma River is currently rising. At 1 p.m. on August 1, the water level measured at stations on the Ma River was 2-5.4 meters below level 1.

The provincial Hydrometeorological Station warned that floods on the Ma River will continue to rise. During this flood, the peak water level at midstream and upstream stations will reach level BĐ1-BĐ2, with some places above BĐ2; downstream stations of the Ma River will remain below level BĐ1. There is a high risk of flooding in riverside areas in the midstream and upstream of the Ma River.

Flood risk warning level: Level 1 - 2. Floods can cause inundation of low-lying areas along rivers, industrial zones, urban areas, affecting traffic activities, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives, and socio- economic activities.
