Sun PhuQuoc Airways' first Airbus A321NX aircraft revealed, starting a fleet of 8 aircraft taking off in 2025

On the morning of August 10, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) - the airline invested and developed by Sun Group - officially welcomed the first Airbus A321NX aircraft at Phu Quoc International Airport. On the same day, SPA and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) also signed a Capital Arrangement Principle Agreement, marking a double step forward in the journey of building a modern, safe and efficient fleet right from the early days of the airline's establishment.

Starting with Airbus's most modern narrow-body aircraft

The Airbus A321NX is the first in a series of eight modern aircraft that will be delivered and take off in 2025, marking the beginning of Sun PhuQuoc Airways' strategy of investing systematically in a modern fleet, operating safely - stably - at international standards.

The aircraft is manufactured and delivered 100% new from Airbus's factory in Hamburg (Germany). Belonging to the latest version of the A321 family, the A321NX has a completely improved passenger cabin. Passengers will immediately feel the superior airy space thanks to the higher cabin ceiling and larger windows, opening up a wide view. The air circulation system is equipped with a HEPA filter to keep the air in the cabin always fresh and clean, eliminating up to 99.9% of fine dust and bacteria, creating an absolutely safe and comfortable space for all passengers.

In particular, the aircraft uses the new generation LEAP-1A engine, providing outstanding operational performance: saving up to 20% fuel, reducing CO2 emissions by 50% and reducing noise by 75% compared to the previous generation. This engine line is highly appreciated for its reliability, stable operation and safety.

The plane officially landed at Phu Quoc International Airport on the morning of August 10.

In the context of increasing demand for aircraft in the world , Sun PhuQuoc Airways' ownership of the latest generation A321NX aircraft, which has just been manufactured, shows the airline's potential and determination in building high-class and professional service quality.

The ceremony to welcome the first aircraft also marked the milestone of launching the official identity of Sun PhuQuoc Airways. Inspired by the red sunset and the brilliant yellow of Phu Quoc's dawn, the two main colors Flame Scarlet and orange yellow create an emotional appearance for the SPA aircraft. On a white background, the words "SUN PHUQUOC AIRWAYS" stand out in a characteristic red color, adjacent to the Vietnamese national flag - like a proud declaration of the Vietnamese brand. The letter "Q" is shaped like the sun rising from the sea and islands, with the base of the letter stylized in the shape of Phu Quoc - like an invitation for tourists to the pearl island. The 9-petal symbol on the tail of the aircraft symbolizes 9 connections and 9 service values of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

Initiating a strategy to connect the pearl island with the world

The event of welcoming the first aircraft of Sun PhuQuoc Airways not only marks the beginning of a safe, modern, international-class fleet, but also affirms the airline's distinct development strategy: for the first time Vietnam has an airline with Phu Quoc as its center.

On the same day, the signing ceremony of the Capital Arrangement Principle Agreement between Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Vietcombank took place, marking an important step in the cooperation between the two parties. Accordingly, Vietcombank will be the lead bank to arrange the credit package for the investment plan of the fleet owned by Sun PhuQuoc Airways, including 10 new generation Airbus A320/321NEO aircraft.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to operate its first commercial flight in November.
