Bank holiday schedule for September 2nd

According to regulations, on the occasion of National Day, September 2, officials, civil servants and employees in the State sector are given 4 consecutive days off, from Saturday (August 30) to Tuesday (September 2). This is also the basis for banks to apply the holiday schedule for employees.

Depending on the Saturday working regime, the bank's holiday schedule is different.

For banks that work on Saturday, they will be closed for 3 consecutive days, from Sunday 31/8 to Tuesday 2/9.

Banks do not work on Saturdays, 4 consecutive days off, from Saturday 8/30 to Tuesday 9/2.

During the holiday, card services, ATMs and e-banking systems will continue to operate normally. However, over-the-counter transactions will be suspended during the holiday. Over-the-counter banking services will resume as normal from September 3.

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) have announced their holiday schedules for the National Day, September 2. Specifically, the stock market will temporarily suspend trading for two days, from Monday (September 1) to Tuesday (September 2). Of which, September 1 is determined to be the previous consecutive holiday according to the provisions of the Labor Law.

Securities transactions with T+2 settlement cycles executed on August 28 and August 29 will be settled on September 3 and September 4, respectively.

For transactions with a T+1 settlement cycle occurring on August 29, settlement will be made on September 3.

After the holiday, Hanoi Stock Exchange and Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange resumed normal trading from Wednesday (September 3).

This adjustment is based on Official Dispatch No. 3193/UBCK-PTTT dated May 31, 2023 of the State Securities Commission and Official Dispatch No. 1046/SGDVN-GSTT dated December 25, 2024 of the Vietnam Stock Exchange on the announcement of the 2025 trading holiday schedule.
