The Xuong Ly lagoon fishing festival is a traditional festival held annually by local fishermen, starting on the 10th day of the first lunar month.

The Xuong Ly Van Dam Fishing Festival takes place according to traditional rituals, including: Nam Hai God welcoming ceremony, provincial birth ceremony, national peace and prosperity, safe fishing for fishermen, and a good seafood harvest...

In addition to the ceremony, the festival is organized with many activities such as: performing "ba trao", "hat boi", rowing, swimming, playing cards and other folk games.

The fishing festival is not only an activity of the coastal villagers but also attracts a large number of tourists, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the unique cultural values of the locality.

The Xuong Ly Van Dam Fishing Festival was formed over 200 years ago, associated with the process of establishing the village, forming a very unique feature in Binh Dinh. The festival is a memory of the space of catching seafood at sea, containing the cultural beliefs of fishermen in the coastal area through many stages in the historical process.

Fishing boats of fishermen in Nhon Ly commune are anchored near shore.

The festival has been nurtured and built over many generations, creating traditional activities of the fishing community through the fishing season, creating exchange activities and sharing experiences of artisans who have been attached to the fishing village since they were very young.

The Xuong Ly Van Dam Fishing Festival is the 6th national intangible cultural heritage of Binh Dinh province to be recognized, following Binh Dinh traditional martial arts, Binh Dinh opera, Binh Dinh bai choi art, Ba Pagoda festival - Nuoc Man port, and Phu Gia horse hat making craft.
