Provincial People's Committee leaders work with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

In the first 6 months of 2024, in the face of severe drought and high risk of forest fires, thanks to flexibility in management and direction, most of the targets and tasks implemented by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development achieved and exceeded the assigned plan; in which, some outstanding results are: The added value of the agricultural sector is estimated at 3,324 billion VND, up 4.71% over the same period and exceeding the growth scenario by 0.43%; attracting investment in high-tech agriculture by 259.67 hectares, exceeding the 2024 plan target by 39.67 hectares; organizing the issuance of 7 growing area codes, increasing the total number of growing area codes in the province to 37 growing area codes/321.204 hectares, developing 3 more agricultural product consumption chains; the rate of people using clean water for daily life reached 99.73%. Disease prevention work in crops, livestock, aquaculture and forestry has many positive changes. The new rural development program continues to be enhanced, to date the whole province has 32/47 communes meeting the new rural standards and 12/32 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards.

Implementing the tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, the Agriculture and Rural Development sector continues to synchronously implement key tasks, aiming to ensure the annual value-added growth rate reaches 4-5% compared to 2023. Strive for the rate of rural households with access to domestic water to reach 99.7%; forest coverage rate to reach 48.14%; increase support for localities to maintain and improve NTM and advanced NTM criteria...

Concluding the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the achievements of the agricultural sector in the first 6 months of 2024; at the same time, pointed out some shortcomings such as the unstable production linkage situation, people's lives facing difficulties due to lack of water for production, slow progress in building new rural areas, especially income and poor household criteria. He suggested that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development continue to effectively implement the policy of developing high-tech agriculture, agriculture adapting to climate change; ensure the implementation of provincial planning for contents under the management of the sector, especially planning for marine aquaculture development, good management of seafood fishing associated with strict compliance with IUU regulations. Coordinate with sectors and localities to review and select reasonable concentrated livestock farming areas in the form of linkage associated with disease prevention and control; increase capital support for the activities of cooperatives. Focus on reforestation, forest care, forest regeneration; thoroughly inspect and handle the joint activities between forestry units and enterprises. Speed ​​up the implementation of the contents in the construction of new rural areas; develop plans to ensure the safety of lakes and dams before the flood season. Regarding the proposals and recommendations of the agricultural sector, relevant units and localities focus on reviewing, coordinating and promptly implementing solutions.
