Phan Rang market traders return to normal business operations

In recent days, Phan Rang market, the main commercial center of Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, has witnessed an unusual phenomenon. A series of small traders, especially clothing and footwear stalls, have simultaneously stopped operating. This incident arose from rumors that the market management force would conduct surprise inspections and confiscate all goods, causing panic among the small traders and residents.

For more than a week, many stalls at Phan Rang market have been closed or only slightly open, creating a quiet atmosphere different from the usual hustle and bustle. Through investigation, the main cause comes from the concern of traders about the lack of invoices and documents for most of the goods being traded.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Thao, a trader at the market, shared: We heard that there will be an inspection team requesting invoices and full documents for the goods. However, up to now, we have been used to importing goods for sale without invoices. This causes great difficulties when having to do it right away. According to the Phan Rang Market Management Board, the reality of traditional business habits in the markets, where traders do not pay attention to getting invoices and documents, has led to anxiety and the spread of false information, causing a series of stalls on the upper floors to close. Traders also expressed their desire for specific guidance from the authorities, especially regarding the request for invoices from wholesale markets, along with promoting the dissemination of new policies and guidelines to raise awareness of compliance with the law in business activities.

Stalls at Phan Rang market have reopened for normal business.

In response to this development, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has determined that the main cause of the incident is false rumors, causing unnecessary anxiety. Mr. Ho Xuan Ninh, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, affirmed: Market management forces only inspect and handle businesses that trade in counterfeit goods and goods that violate intellectual property rights, especially items such as food, functional foods, cosmetics and fashion with fake brands. There is no confiscation of all goods of the people.

To reassure traders, Market Management Team No. 1 has closely coordinated with the Market Management Board to organize propaganda and mobilize people to do business with peace of mind. For traders in the markets, the authorities will coordinate with the tax authorities and the Market Management Board to propagate Decree 70 of the Government on invoices, documents and regulations related to product origin. This is part of the effort to improve transparency and compliance with the law in commercial activities.

Thanks to the timely intervention and effective propaganda of the authorities, the situation at Phan Rang market quickly stabilized. Since June 17, records on the first floor and along the market corridor show that kiosks have reopened and trading activities are taking place normally.

This incident is also a reminder of the need to change business habits. In the context of strong e-commerce development and increasingly strict legal regulations on product transparency, having complete input and output invoices is a key factor to ensure sustainable and legal business operations.
