On the evening of June 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam held a ceremony to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Independence Day of the State of Israel (1948 - 2024).
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer and representatives of a number of foreign agencies and representatives in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Israeli Ambassador Yaron Mayer said that 31 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-Israel relationship has developed strongly in many areas such as economics and technology. According to Ambassador Yaron Mayer, the trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 2.7 billion USD last year; Israel's Zim Shipping Company - one of the world's leading shipping companies - has moved its Southeast Asia hub to Vietnam, opening a direct trade route between the two countries. The Vietnam-Israel Free Trade Agreement signed in July last year is an important milestone built on trust and a common desire for a shared future.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, authorized by the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Comrade Nguyen Van Dung sent to the Ambassador, his wife, the Israeli community in Ho Chi Minh City in particular, Vietnam in general and through the Ambassador, to the Government and people of Israel the best wishes on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Independence Day of the State of Israel.
Comrade Nguyen Van Dung affirmed that the consistent viewpoint of the Ho Chi Minh City Government has been and will always support and accompany Israeli enterprises to invest, produce, and do business effectively, safely and long-term in the city. The city government will always create favorable conditions and support the Israeli Embassy to promote bilateral cooperation programs and projects, contributing to strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Comrade Nguyen Van Dung believes that with the potential and continuous development of the two countries, with the support of the people and the commitment of the leaders of both sides, bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Israel in general, and Ho Chi Minh City and Israel in particular, will continue to take off in the coming time.
