(DN)- On June 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the meeting of the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide (5th time), the State Steering Committee for important national works and projects, key transport sector (18th time); promoting the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025 (2nd time).

Dong Nai strives to fulfill its tasks

Reporting at the meeting, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung said that thanks to drastic direction, up to now, 38/63 localities have completed the entire target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for all 3 target groups: houses under the sustainable poverty reduction program; houses for people with meritorious services; houses for poor and near-poor households, an increase of 23 localities compared to the fourth meeting.

By June 30, it is expected that 8 more localities will complete the project. In July, 3 localities registered to complete the project; in August, 14 more localities will join, striving to complete the project nationwide by August 25.

Regarding the progress of important national projects and key transport sector works, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that currently, ministries and sectors have completed 11 important tasks out of 34 tasks assigned by the Prime Minister in the previous meeting. The focus is on removing major difficulties and obstacles in the investment process of projects.

Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang said that by June 30, the total disbursed public investment capital nationwide reached nearly 265 trillion VND, reaching more than 32% of the plan, higher than the same period in 2024 in both value and ratio.

For Dong Nai province, according to the provincial People's Committee, the locality has identified public investment disbursement as a key political task, aiming to promote economic growth to ensure double-digit growth.

As of June 18, the total public investment capital disbursed in the province was more than VND3.2 trillion, reaching more than 19% of the capital plan. It is estimated that by the end of June 30, Dong Nai province will have disbursed nearly VND5.8 trillion in public investment capital, reaching 34% of the total capital plan.

In the coming time, the province will review and adjust the capital plan for slow-to-implement projects to projects with "clean" sites and projects with fast implementation to promptly arrange capital and increase the disbursement rate of public investment capital in the province.

Regarding the implementation of important national projects and key transport sector works, the Provincial People's Committee said that the locality has completed site clearance for the Long Thanh Airport project; Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway; Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project will be completed in July 2025.

At the same time, the province has also worked and reviewed each quarry, assessed the supply capacity when increasing capacity, and fully allocated the volume and types for each project.

Regarding the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Dong Nai has so far built and repaired 579/464 houses, reaching nearly 125% of the demand. Of these, 349 houses were newly built and 230 houses were repaired with a cost of nearly 46 billion VND.

According to the provincial People's Committee, for the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Dong Nai province was assigned to support Son La province with 111 billion VND and Cao Bang province with 5 billion VND. To date, the province has completed the support for the localities.

Urgently handle the recommendations of the units

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that in the coming time, Ministers, Provincial Party Secretaries, and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities must thoroughly grasp the spirit of not allowing the implementation of the revolution in organizational apparatus and the implementation of the 2-level local government model to affect their work.

To promote the disbursement of public investment capital, the Prime Minister requested that Ministers, Heads of sectors, Secretaries and Chairmen of provincial People's Committees uphold their sense of responsibility, promote the role of leaders in leading, directing and organizing implementation; "only discuss doing, not backtracking".

Along with that, ministries, branches and localities quickly complete investment procedures for projects. Speed ​​up the construction progress of projects under construction. In particular, localities need to focus on site clearance for projects, and promptly hand over to investors for construction.

Regarding the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, localities and the entire political system to be determined to complete the set goals, focusing on completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 31, 2025. In particular, housing support for relatives of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions must be completed before July 27, 2025.

“Ministries and agencies, according to their assigned functions and tasks, shall study and promptly handle the recommendations of conference delegates according to their authority and regulations; report to the Prime Minister on matters beyond their authority; propose to the National Assembly to amend relevant laws and regulations including the Land Law, the Mineral Law, the Planning Law, regulations on bidding, auctions, and capital adjustment for projects…” - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also assigned ministries, branches and localities to prepare well for the groundbreaking and inauguration of 80 major projects and works nationwide on August 19, 2025 and the exhibition of 80 years of socio-economic development achievements at the National Exhibition and Fair Center.
