BHG - From 2024 to present, the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Xin Man district has achieved many positive results, bringing about clear changes in people's lives. Hundreds of poor, near-poor households, and policy families have been supported to build solid and safe houses. Behind the new houses is the companionship of the entire political system, organizations, kind-hearted individuals and neighbors, adding motivation for disadvantaged households to rise up in life.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, Xin Man district urgently established a Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses from the district to the grassroots level. At the same time, it issued directive documents and plans, organized launching ceremonies in localities and mobilized social resources for implementation. Right after the Lunar New Year 2025, many communes such as Then Phang, Che La, Nam Dan, Chi Ca... pioneered in starting construction of dozens of houses. In the 2025 plan, the entire Xin Man district reviewed and approved support for 1,635 households, of which 1,439 were newly built and 196 were repaired. To date, more than 1,369 houses have been started, of which more than 890 have been completed and handed over. Specifically, the program to support people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs has been 100% completed with 28 houses. The program to support poor and near-poor households and national target programs have been implemented and 617/617 houses have been completed. Within the framework of the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development support for ethnic minority areas, more than 1,340 houses have been approved and 751 houses have been started, 276 houses have been completed.
The highlight of the temporary housing program in Xin Man district is the spirit of "leaving no one behind". Each completed house is a supported fate, a life protected from wind and rain, floods. Mr. Lu Sao Binh, Lung Chang village, Then Phang commune shared: "My old house was roofed with degraded cement, the bamboo walls leaked when it rained heavily and the wind blew hard. With support, and the help of officials and villagers, my house is now solidly completed, the brick walls are clean". It is not only Mr. Binh's story, in communes and towns in Xin Man district, many households have had safe housing before the rainy season. The cooperation of armed forces and volunteer units... added spiritual and financial motivation to the program. More than 27,000 working days were mobilized, hundreds of tons of cement, tens of billions of VND in support reached the people.

Joy spread to the family of Mr. Hoang Xuan Nhi, Nam Khuong village, Na Chi commune. At the beginning of this year, his family was living in a seriously degraded house. Due to difficult economic conditions, repairing or building a new solid house was too difficult for the family. Meanwhile, Mr. Nhi was exposed to toxic chemicals during the resistance war against the US, with a disability rate of up to 81%. After understanding the situation and circumstances of the family, on April 30, the Provincial Police mobilized officers and soldiers in the entire force to contribute funds to support the family in building a new house. In addition to the support of working days from police officers and soldiers, union members, youth and local people, the Provincial Police also allocated 80 million VND to directly support the family. After nearly 2 months of construction, the stilt house with an area of 85m2 has been completed to the joy of the family and the sponsoring unit. Mr. Hoang Xuan Nhi was moved: My family's circumstances are difficult, I am "sick today, sick tomorrow", I can't do anything. Now having a new, spacious house makes me really happy.
Comrade Duong Viet Hung, Head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of Xin Man district, said: From July 1, 2025, the two-level local government apparatus will begin operating, along with the implementation of the provincial merger policy. Therefore, the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department has prepared necessary conditions such as collecting data, drafting documents to send to communes after the merger; transferring documents to communes, so that the communes can continue to implement, not allowing the program of eliminating temporary houses and dilapidated houses to be interrupted or problems that affect the progress. To complete the set goals, from now until the end of August 2025, the communes will continue to step up inspection, urging, and assigning officials in charge of each household to closely monitor the progress and support people in removing difficulties.
