Federer signed a $150 million deal with Nike for 20 years, before switching to Uniqlo in 2018 for a $300 million , 10-year deal. However, since Uniqlo does not produce shoes, Federer teamed up with On, a decision that would be a turning point in his career.
In addition to his contracts with On and Uniqlo, Federer has long-standing sponsorship relationships with major brands such as Lindt, Mercedes-Benz, Rolex and Moet & Chandon. All of this income has helped him become the world's highest-paid tennis player for 16 consecutive years.
In 2020, Federer was recognized as the world's highest-paid athlete ( $106.3 million before taxes).
Before Federer, another legend, Ion Tiriac, became the first billionaire in tennis in 2007, thanks to investments in real estate and financial services.
