Groundbreaking ceremony for the Memorial Area for Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong

Dien Bien TV - On the morning of April 19, at Km17, National Highway 279 in Na Hai village, Pom Lot commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien Provincial Police held a groundbreaking ceremony to build the Memorial Site for Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Pham Duc Toan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and comrades of the Provincial Party Committee.

Also attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Vu Hung Vuong, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police, former Director of Department C40, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Former Police Officers; representatives of the Ministry of Public Security and relatives of the family of Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong.

Before the groundbreaking ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates offered incense and flowers, and observed a minute of silence to express their respect and gratitude for the dedication and noble sacrifice of Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong, an officer of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Dien Bien Provincial Police.

The memorial was built at Km17, National Highway 279, in Na Hai village, Pom Lot commune, Dien Bien district. This is the place where Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong sacrificed his life on October 6, 2001 while performing a mission under Project MC92001, fighting transnational drug crimes. The project has a total area of nearly 1,200m2, designed with three main areas: The central memorial area and walkway; the parking lot and landscape in front; the parking lot and landscape in the back.

At the ceremony, agencies, units and businesses donated funds and materials to support the construction of the Memorial Area for Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong.

After the ceremony, the delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Memorial Area. This is not only a space to remember and pay tribute to the great contributions of Heroic Martyr Pham Van Cuong, but also a red address toeducate the revolutionary tradition, patriotism, fighting spirit and train revolutionary ethics for the younger generation; especially for officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security force.

The groundbreaking ceremony is also a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
