For the officers and soldiers here, training is not only a central task, but also an honor and pride, ready to firmly protect the Fatherland's sky on the occasion of the great anniversary of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Present at the training site of Company 3, Battalion 1, we witnessed each artillery crew working closely and quickly in every situation: from deploying formations, capturing targets in the air to level-change operations, ready to destroy simulated targets in a split second. Under the gentle autumn sunlight, everyone's faces still exuded concentration, their eyes were strained, following every movement, not missing any details. Senior Lieutenant Vu Van Huu, Platoon Leader of Platoon 2, Company 3 shared: "Each position in the battery has precise regulations, operations must be proficient, decisive and synchronized. When the command is given, everything operates like a machine, not allowed to be late even for a beat. It is this close coordination that is the decisive factor in improving the quality of training and creating a competitive atmosphere between units."
According to Senior Lieutenant Vu Van Huu, the spirit of “everyone competes, every unit competes” has become the driving force for soldiers to be more proactive and enthusiastic on the training ground. No one trains in a perfunctory manner anymore, but each training session is a “competition” to strive together, overcome limitations, and make up for the smallest shortcomings.

It is worth noting that at the 214th Air Defense Brigade, the emulation movement does not stop at slogans but has gone into substance. Every day and every week, all levels conduct inspections, assessments, and specific comments on each individual and group. Shortcomings are pointed out frankly, while achievements are promptly commended, creating a healthy and exciting emulation atmosphere. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Ve, Political Commissar of Battalion 1, said: “We always consider emulation and rewards as a driving force to motivate the troops. Each battery and each soldier is evaluated publicly and transparently. This not only helps create fairness, but also arouses a sense of responsibility and aspiration to excel in training. For direct teaching staff, we also require innovation in methods, linking professional training with emulation in each stage.”
An important highlight at the 214th Air Defense Brigade is the association of the emulation movement with the promotion of initiatives and technical improvements; many initiatives have been effectively applied, helping to save time and improve training accuracy. Before each stage, the emulation council organizes scoring and commendation of new teaching aid models, considering this a "catalyst" for soldiers to proactively create, constantly explore, and improve training quality. The emulation movement not only aims for "excellent" results but also trains political mettle, a strong mentality, and a disciplined style for soldiers. Creative models such as "Nguyen Viet Xuan Battery", "Youth Union does not smoke, does not violate discipline" have contributed to enriching the emulation form, creating a strong spread throughout the unit.

Colonel Nguyen Duy Toan, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the 214th Air Defense Brigade, emphasized: “Training is a breakthrough that the Resolution of the Military Region Party Committee and the Brigade Party Committee both identified. Through the emulation movement for excellent training, we want to foster determination, improve discipline and awareness of strict compliance with training principles. Every officer and soldier, when entering the training ground, carries with them the spirit of victory, considering training results as a measure of the soldier's mettle and responsibility.”
The Brigade’s Political Commissar also affirmed that in order to improve the quality of training, it is necessary to take care of training the cadres, especially young officers who have just graduated. With the motto “training cadres first, training soldiers later”, the Brigade has focused on training and mentoring, helping young cadres to quickly mature and confidently perform their training tasks well.
Thanks to the methodical, creative and effective organization, the emulation movement for excellent training in the 214th Air Defense Brigade has brought about many outstanding results. In recent years, 100% of the training subjects have met the requirements, of which over 85% have achieved good and excellent results; the unit has always maintained the title of "Excellent Training Unit", ensuring absolute safety for people and weapons and equipment, contributing to building a strong and comprehensive "exemplary and typical" Brigade.
